Grant Line Buzz

A Note from Mrs. Satkoski.......
We had a great first week back!
Please remember if you pick up your child prior to 2:15 pm they will be tardy. Our school day is from 8:00 am to 2:15 pm. Announcements are at 2:15 pm. We dismiss for busses at 2:22 pm and they usually roll out around 2:25 pm. Our car rider line begins around 2:20 as well as students are released from rooms at 2:15 pm. The car rider line (after the first week) ends at 2:45 pm. We will then bring the remaining students to the office for dismissal. If you are consistently picking up students after 2:45 pm, we will ask that you make arrangements as we do not have staff to supervise.
PLEASE ENTER THE ENTRANCE AND EXIT THE EXIT - OUR ROAD IS ONE WAY - IT IS NOT SAFE TO LEAVE VIA THE ENTRANCE! Thank you for your help!
AM car riders - please have your children stay in the car until the car rider team comes to the curb. This is for their safety! Thanks!
Here are some reminders for communication to and from school.
Newsletter
Each week I will send out a newsletter to the email addresses that are listed in PowerSchool for your child. If you'd like to add any emails, please contact our lovely front office ladies (Mrs. Hosking or Mrs. Baker) and they can add additional emails.
Dojo
Be sure to also sign up for Class Dojo (download the app!) for your child's teacher AND Grant Line. We send important information via Class Dojo and email frequently! Here is the Class Dojo link for Grant Line - be sure to sign up! https://www.classdojo.com/ul/p/addKid?target=school&schoolID=4eece6b5f64aa62934ed737e
Grant Line Website
Another way to see all that is happening at Grant Line is through our school website. Go to nafcs.org and click on schools at the top of the page. Then click on Grant Line. This will take you right to our website. All school events, newsletters, and forms are available here. Menus for breakfast and lunch are available on our website under Student Life and then Food Services. You can also load your student's lunch account from the Food Services page.
Free and Reduced Lunch
The free and reduced lunch application for 26-27 is now open. The link to that is on our website and the district website. Please apply quickly to ensure your student's lunch and breakfast is covered from day one. You must apply each year for free and reduced lunch services. Here is the link to apply: https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application
Attendance Policy
The State of Indiana enacted a new attendance policy that began last year. School grades also began this past year and attendance is a HUGE piece of this. After ten days of being absent (unexcused) and 18 total absences (unexcused or excused), we will send home a letter, have an attendance meeting, and make a DCS call. Ten days is TWO WEEKS out of school, of which we have approximately 36 a year. When students are at school, they learn!!

NAFCS Calendar
REMINDER! We only have ONE week at Fall and Spring breaks this year, two at Christmas. PLEASE check out the calendar so that you plan vacations and appointments accordingly.
Take time to review the following attendance document (listed in our handbook) - this was put in place by the state last year. Attendance matters! We would like for every staff and student to miss at or less than ten days this year - that is a goal of 94%. When your child is here - they learn!
School Family Commitment
I will work hard to learn new routines and procedures.
