Dear North Star Community,
We are very much looking forward to our upcoming Parent-Family Conferences next week! This is a wonderful opportunity to connect, reflect, and collaborate. We deeply appreciate your continued partnership, a strong home-school connection is essential to your scholarâs success.
What to Expect During Conferences:
These meetings are focused on goal-setting. To help make the most of our time together, our 4thâ8th graders have prepared slide presentations. If you would like your scholar to present their slides to you at home prior to your meeting, we strongly encourage it! Reviewing their presentation in advance allows us to dedicate our conference time entirely to building actionable steps around their goals.
Important Schedule Reminders for Next Week:
Monday, 9/28: No school for scholars (Educator Professional Development). Enjoy the 3-day weekend!
Tuesday, 9/29 â Friday, 10/2: Super minimum days to accommodate conferences. Dismissal will be at 11:40 AM each day.
Lunch: Grab-and-go lunches will be available for scholars to pick up at dismissal each afternoon.
Thank you again for your dedication and support. We wish you and your family a wonderful 3-day weekend, and we look forward to seeing you next week!
Sincerely,
Erin Kekos
Principal, North Star

âDIRECT DONATIONSâ
Think. Create. Climb.
Then Double Your Impact!
-------------------------------------------
Does your company match charitable donations?
Company matching is a significant part of the money we raise toward our school fundraising goal, and it can be an easy way to make your gift go twice as far!
Check with your companyâs HR department to see if they offer a gift-matching program. If they do, search for or add North Star Parentâs Club as an eligible nonprofit (Tax ID/EIN: 94-3310787).
Your donation and company match can help us climb even higher!
đ¸ Please reach out to the fundraising team with any questions.
âSCHOLARS' VOICESâ
Written by Scholars for Families
Hello, North Star Families!
Happy first week of fall! We would like to give a special thank you to all of the families that attended and helped organize Night at North Star, especially the Dads Club. We really love this tradition and the memories. We appreciate the work that goes into it!
In other happenings around school:
- Our next spirit day will be on October 2nd: celebrity day! You can dress up like your favorite celebrity and compete with other classes for spirit points for your house.
- Our Halloween Dance is coming up on October 16th! Tickets will be available for sale October 12-16 online and at school. Admission is $5 before the dance, and $10 at the door. Cash only please, and bring extra money for food!
Thank you so much for reading this section of the NSA newsletter, and if scholars have any questions please feel free to contact your student leadership through Google Classroom, or Mr. Perkins.
By the way, you've found an easter egg! Can you guess what the TWO most popular first names are at North Star? You don't need to be right to win! Just email your guess to communications@nsaparents.com and you'll be entered into a drawing for a Starbucks gift card.
Have a fantastic week,

The Fun Stuff
Plot twist! Zero entries came in for last weekâs photo contest, which means your odds of winning just skyrocketed! Our yearbook pages thank you!
