Dear BES Families,

Tomorrow is our Blood Drive! There are just a few spots left - how cool if we can fill all the spots! Sign-up below or call Nurse Candice in the morning! Thank you to everyone who has signed up.

Also below, we have a Season Support Newsletter with information for families needing assistance this winter. Please check it out and share!

Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up on October 9th and 10th. Please note we have different times than Rockville. Our conferences on October 9th are from 4-8pm and on the 10th they are 8am-12pm.

To sign up:

Sign in to Skyward HERE

Select “Conferences” from the menu on the left.

Select “All Conferences” and then “Select a Time.”

Our first Site Council meeting was this week. Thank you to our 24-25 members: Jennifer Goodman, Jill Clark, Lauren Moscardelli, McKenzie Phillips, Deana Werkowitch, Emily Sells, DeAnn Prettyman, and Sherry Macoubrie.

This week we will be administering the mySAEBRs screener to all students with parental permission on Oct. 4, 2024. If you do not give permission, there's no need to complete the form. All students with a 'yes' will be given the screener. We went over the value of this at our parent meeting last Wednesday night and if you have any questions, please reach out. I'm happy to meet or talk and answer any questions!

You can read about the survey here: https://www.usd416.org/page/student-surveys

The form to give permission is here: mySAEBRs

Have a great week!

BES Blood Drive

We are partnering with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive. Just like our CPR lessons in PE, this is also meant to educate our kids on the importance of donating blood when they are older!

Please scan the QR to schedule a time to come to BES and donate!

Seasonal Support Newsletter

Believe it or not, cold weather and the holiday season are fast approaching. We wanted to share with you some free resources for winter coats, Thanksgiving meal baskets and Christmas gifts (Christmas gift program is for Louisburg children birth to 18). There are deadlines to each that, again, as far away as they seem, will be here in no time. The added expense of winter coats and holiday costs can be a heavy burden. If your family could benefit from a little extra support to ease that burden, then we hope these resources will do just that! Please see our newsletter to learn about some wonderful resources! Mindset Minute

This week we begin discussing the mindset, EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE. This mindset gets us dreaming big, thinking about what we hope to accomplish, what we want to learn or get better at and what we want to become. Being able to envision these things in our future enables us to think about how we get there and then make choices each day that point us in the direction of our dreams. We will have conversations about dreaming big, embracing creativity, thinking positive and learning to act & adjust.

USD 416 Community Resource Guide

Hardships can fall on any of us at any time for a variety of reasons. If you are in need of financial, mental health, parenting, military, holiday, etc. assistance, then I hope you will find our community resource guide helpful. https://usd416communityresourceguide.weebly.com/

Attendance and School Calendars Attendance and School Calendars

Please take note of our school calendars when planning your family's vacations.

Attendance is a focus at BES and we want your children at school! It can be very difficult for students to get caught up sometimes when they miss for extended periods of time. For example, when a student misses a week of school, that is up to 450 minutes of math instruction they are missing!

If your family does have a trip planned, we do not provide lessons or materials ahead of those trips. Teachers will work with you to schedule times when your student can be given that instruction and guided work time to ensure mastery of skills. This may have to happen before or after school, but we will also try to work during the school day as well.

GREAT school habits now help prepare students for future success!

Great Attendance for August!!

Congratulations to the Classroom Winners!
