As we turn the calendar to March, there is a lot happening across our schools and we’re excited for a strong finish to the third quarter!
First, a quick reminder that Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 8 β€” don’t forget to set your clocks forward one hour Saturday night.
Conference season is also approaching. This year, elementary conferences will be held in April, a little later than usual. Our middle school and high school conferences will take place before Spring Break, following our traditional schedule. More detailed information will be coming from your child’s school.
There are a lot of exciting events coming up at every school this month so make sure to check the calendar below for dates and times! A few important reminders:

  • Thursday, March 12, KHS will be the host of the Silver Valley Career Fair where high school students from Wallace & Mullan will join the Wildcats in meeting with representatives from area employers and educational institutions. '
  • Senior Project Day is Friday, March 20. Please note that both seniors and juniors will attend school that day as seniors present their culminating projects β€” one of our favorite traditions showcasing student growth and readiness for what comes next.
  • KHS Athletics Auction Fundraiser is being held on Saturday, March 21. This is a departure from the normal golf scramble and auction usually held at the end of the school year but this is a great way for community members to show their support for KSD athletics and activities.

We also want to congratulate our KHS girls basketball and wrestling teams for earning their way to the state tournaments! We are proud of their hard work, dedication, and the way they represent our schools and community.
Finally, thank you. We deeply appreciate the support and trust you place in our district staff each day to care for and educate your children. We are grateful for our partnership with families and look forward to a great month ahead.

In the weeks since the public workshop was held, KSD administration has continued to evaluate programs and positions that are levy funded for the KSD Board of Trustees to consider when given the option of rerunning the supplemental levy that failed in the November election. The next election date is May 19th so please be on the lookout for updated information as the trustees move forward.

Coming to school regularly helps students feel connected and confident.

If you have seen the KSD weekly attendance updates, we want to remind you why every day matters for your student. When students attend consistently, they build strong academic skills, stay connected to their teachers and peers, and develop important habits like responsibility and time management. Even missing just a day or two each month can add up quickly and impact learning. Thank you for partnering with us to make attendance a priority and helping your child make the most of every school day.

Mark your calendars! The annual Kellogg High School Career Fair will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 8:00–11:00 AM at KHS. This event is open to all students in grades 9–12 from Kellogg, Wallace, and Mullan High Schools and is designed to help students explore career pathways, training programs, and post-secondary opportunities.

Coordinated by Silver Valley Special Services Co-Op Director Tina Karst, the fair has grown tremendously over the years. What began as an event focused on supporting students with special needs in their transition to the workforce has expanded into a comprehensive career exploration experience for all high school students.

This year’s event will feature a wide range of vendors, including local and regional businesses actively hiring current and graduating students. Representatives from colleges, universities, trade schools, apprenticeship programs, and workforce training organizations will also be on hand. Students will have the opportunity to visit booths, ask questions, gather information, and even attend optional 30-minute small group presentations for a deeper dive into specific careers and educational paths.

We are proud to continue hosting this valuable event and grateful for the businesses and organizations that invest their time in supporting our students. The Career Fair provides a meaningful opportunity for students to make connections, explore possibilities, and take important steps toward their future.

Mark your calendars for an exciting night in support of our student athletes and activity programs! The Kellogg High School Athletics & Activities Auction will take place on Friday, March 21st, and this year, the event is stepping into the spotlight with a date all its own.

In past years, the auction has been held alongside the annual golf scramble at the end of the school year. Thanks to its incredible success and growing community support, the auction has earned its own place on the calendar. That success speaks volumes about how much our community values the opportunities we provide for students at both Kellogg High School and Kellogg Middle School.

Athletics and activities are more than just after-school programs, they are where leadership is developed, teamwork is strengthened, and lifelong memories are made. From the playing field to the stage, from competition to collaboration, these experiences shape confident, resilient students who carry their skills far beyond graduation.

What many may not realize is that KHS and KMS athletics and activities are funded entirely through our supplemental levy. While our community has consistently shown strong support for our schools, fundraisers like the Athletics & Activities Auction play an important role in easing the demand on levy funds. Every bid placed and every donation made helps stretch those dollars further, providing equipment, travel opportunities, uniforms, entry fees, and the β€œextras” that elevate our programs.

This event is not just about raising funds, it’s about coming together as a community to invest in our kids. It’s a chance to celebrate the pride we feel when our Wildcats compete, perform, and represent Kellogg with integrity and heart.

We invite families, alumni, local businesses, and community members to join us on March 21st for an evening of generosity, school spirit, and support for the programs that mean so much to our students.

When our community shows up, our students rise. We hope to see you there!
