Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year and our first Friday family newsletter! We are looking forward to working together to make sure that your student(s) have a fantastic school year.
This newsletter contains information like upcoming important events, photos of our students doing fantastic things, and a special section from our Guidance Department. It will be helpful for you to check out these sections so that you can help your student(s) stay organized and prepared.
It’s been exciting to see more and more students in the building as we are getting closer to the first day of school. Today, our freshmen participated in their Transition Day and met their new Link Crew Leaders with whom they will be working throughout the school year. We will have some photos to share in next week’s BHS Express!
We hope you and your students have a fantastic weekend, and we look forward to meeting all of you at our Open House on August 13th from 3:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
In service to our Bulldogs.

Hello, Families.
I hope everyone had a great summer break. Welcome back to the 2026 school year. A few things as we get ready to start the new school year.
The seniors that bought a parking pass/spot to be painted have been busy decorating their spots this past week. They look great! Nice job. Any senior that still needs to purchase a parking pass can. They’ve been receiving emails from me during the summer with instructions and a timeline.
Spots must be painted for seniors by August 12th.
The timeline is pasted below:
Parking Pass Timeline for Seniors
July 13th - PaySchools opens for all drivers.(The PaySchools app may work better from a computer than a cell phone.)
July 24th - Last day for Seniors to purchase if they want to paint theirs spots. For approval.
July 31st - Senior parking pass pick up from 8-12pm @ the H.S.
August 3rd - Senior painting begins per approval of design.
August 12th - Senior painting must be completed prior to high school open house.
Parking passes can still be purchased for all student drivers online through PaySchools, or in person during business hours in the high school office. If you plan on paying in-person, please email me to check my availability.
Underclassmen parking passes will be distributed during Open House on August 13th from 3:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Cost for the underclassmen parking pass is $50 for the year.

SchooLinks Access for Parents
What is SchooLinks? SchooLinks is a new online platform Batavia is utilizing this year that provides a variety of tools designed to help students explore and collect information on colleges, careers, and tracking how they are meeting their graduation requirements -, as well as developing a plan for after high school. Guardians can track their student's progress and support their journey toward post-secondary success. The attached document gives guardians directions for logging into SchooLinks and viewing their student’s account.
The FAFSA Application is still Open!!!!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students entering or attending college for the 2026-27 academic year is up and running! Any student that is thinking about attending any type of education/training after high school should complete the FAFSA - technical school, trade school, community college, public university, or private university. The FAFSA is what determines your eligibility for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships - thus, it is VERY important that you complete and submit it. Keep in mind, all students are eligible for student loans! We will continue to share information and helpful resources with you and your family as we receive it!
The Ohio Department of Higher Education would like to share that the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available for all families to complete. Families who want to start filling out the FAFSA now can start the process at studentaid.gov.
For additional assistance with FAFSA completion, please visit itsforyou.org, and look under the “Looking for FAFSA Help?” section for more information
