Headteacher's Message
Dear Parents & Carers,
I want to start by saying a huge thank you to all members of our school community, for your cooperation and support over this last week, as we have experienced such unprecedented temperatures. Your children have been a credit to you and have shown great resilience and adaptability in these challenging conditions. Normal uniform and school hours will resume from Monday 29th June, as temperatures are thankfully expected to drop.
We have a busy few weeks ahead as we get ready for the end of the school year. We will of course be saying goodbye to our Year 6 students with a variety of exciting events, celebrating Sports days, enjoying our annual OLSG Summer fair, and finishing off with our end of year Achievement assembly in the Church. Please make a note of dates for your calendar, which can be found at the end of this newsletter.
Please keep in mind these reminders, for the last 3 weeks:
Uniform: Please ensure children are in their summer uniform and have a sun hat for outdoor play.
Sun Protection: As the weather warms up, please apply sun cream before school.
Water Bottles: Staying hydrated is essential for focused learning- please ensure your child brings a refillable water bottle to school.
Best wishes,
Ms R McGylnn
Headteacher

Please show your support and have some fun our biggest fundraising event of the year. Payments at the fair will be Card only.

Any parents or carers who would like to help set up the fair or run a stall are welcome to join us for a planning meeting on Friday 3rd July, 2.30 at Lower site.
Book Sale
On Monday 29th June, we will be holding a used book sale at Upper site at home time. Pupils can buy 10 used books for £1. Hopefully some well-loved books can continue to be enjoyed by new owners!
Eco Week
This week we celebrated our annual Eco week here at OLSG. All classes enjoyed 3 'no paper or pen' days in school, helping us reflect on our impact on the environment. Instead of writing in books, we took our learning outside to participate in a variety of outdoor activities in our green spaces around the school grounds. We tended the edible gardens, grew and harvested produce, and even found natural materials to explore. The week reminded us that we are so lucky to have our outdoor spaces and that we must take care of them, as stewards of God's beautiful creation.
Year 4 Trip
On 18th June, Year 4 had a fantastic trip to the Natural History Museum. The children took part in an ocean and habitat workshop and thought about what more we could do to help the environment and our oceans. Everyone had a wonderful day and learnt so much. Thank you to our staff and parents helper.
Year 3 Trip
On Wednesday 17th June, Year 3 visited the Paddington Experience and were absolutely blown away by all of the hands-on activities and amazing exhibits. The class took the train all the way, just like Paddington Bear on his long journey from Peru to London! Many thanks to the staff and parent helpers who made this amazing trip possible.

Prayer & Reflection
Prayer Room
Our prayer room contributions come from Kelsey and Levany, Year 6 :
Heavenly Lord,
Thank you for all you have given me.
I pray for the whole of year 6 and all the staff that have helped us get there.
May you continue to bless us all.
Amen.
By Kelsey
Dear Lord,
I surrender my worries and overthinking to You. When my heart feels heavy or anxious, grant me the courage to let go and trust in Your timing.
Clear my mind of confusion, fill my spirit with Your perfect peace, and help me to rest in the knowledge that You are in control.
Amen
By Levany
Reflection
As we move into the final weeks of the Summer Term, we give thanks for all that has already been shared and achieved together this year, while looking forward with excitement to the many special events still to come. Sports Days, performances, celebrations, trips and opportunities to learn beyond the classroom all remind us of the joy of being part of our school community. These moments help our children to grow in confidence, friendship and faith, and we look forward to making many more happy memories before the term draws to a close.
The final weeks of the school year will bring a mixture of celebration and reflection as we prepare to say goodbye to one chapter and look ahead to the next. In time, the summer holidays will offer a welcome opportunity for rest, renewal and precious moments with family and friends. As we continue this journey together, we trust in God's guidance, giving thanks for all that has been and looking forward with hope to the new beginnings that lie ahead.
