Commissioner Report:
Inservice Day - Lary could come and talk to teachers and staff to try and recruit more people to become officials.
Double Duals vs. Duals:
When scheduling for the next season he needs to know exactly what teams are playing that night (Varsity only, JV and Varsity). He also needs to know if a dual is going to be 3 of 5. He also needs to know 1 or 2 courts?
Handed out the 2026-2027 Basketball Rule Changes
5-9-5 Rule New: In the last 59.9 seconds of each quarter or extra period, if play is resumed by a throw-in or an unsuccessful free throw, a minimum of three-tenth (.3) of a second must expire on the game clock when the ball is legally touched by a player inbounds. (NOTE: This rule does not apply when the game clock is not capable of displaying tenths of a second.)
Handed out the 2026-2027 Wrestling Rule Changes
The Kansas City Commissioner resigned effective at the end of December. Our commissioner as well as the TVL have been contacted about taking over this position, Lary wanted the league to know that he is not taking the job no matter what the rumors are, neither is TVL/Big East Commissioner.

Facilities and Equipment Upgrades - Short Term
1. Shot Clocks and the parts for the shot clocks are here and we are working on installation.
2. Look into some shelving for the mezzanine in the new addition turf room to potentially use this space for all sports uniforms to be stored neatly in one place.
3. Work with Custom Life Co. again for some exterior upgrades to the breezeway to brighten up that entrance. Also upgrade to the JSH hallways with some murals or pictures to brighten them and make them more inviting.
Facilities and Equipment Upgrades - Long Term
1) Drop Down Batting Nets for new addition turf room.
2) Baseball/Softball Upgrades:
a. Getting Shade Built for overtop of the bleachers: Update: After meeting with contractors it makes the most sense to wait until we replace asphalts to put in new dugouts.
b. Update and remodel dugouts to include better bleachers, cubbies for helmets and gloves, storage closet within the dugouts for easier access to equipment. Update: After meeting with contractors it makes the most sense to wait until we replace asphalts to put in new dugouts.
c. New board and padding on the backstops for softball and baseball fields.
d. Large bleachers for the softball field - they are much smaller than baseball. Update: waiting until the asphalt is replaced with concrete.
e. Real press boxes that are elevated for filming and scorekeeping
f. New Scoreboard (which would include pitch counts).
g. Storage building for equipment closer to the fields.
***All of these upgrade depend on the money from the county - not sure where we are with all that - need to check in again.
3) Storage system for wrestling mats - to hoist tem into the ceiling for out of the way storage.
4) Revamping of the boys and girls locker rooms as well as the laundry room at the JSH. Better lockers, fix and upgrade the showers, move sports teams uniform storage to the mezzanine to clear up room in laundry room for a potential space for the trainer, and bring back a ice bath and jacuzzi to treat injuries.
