CELC News & Updates

Hello Creekside Families,

I hope that everyone enjoyed their 3 day weekend. It was a quiet weekend for my family. We didn't have sports or attend or host any barbecues. Instead, we took the time to relax and reflect on Memorial Day.

It is hard to believe that we only have 8 days of school left and our first kindergarten promotion is this Friday! We are excited to "launch" our kindergarteners into first grade and we are looking forward to seeing our TK and EAK students again next year!

Staff will be at the gate on Friday morning to check in parents for promotion. We will begin letting guests in at 9:15 am. All guests must wear a face mask. Guest will be asked to go directly to a table in the lunch area. Please distance yourself from other families and remain seated. When your child is called to receive their certificate, you may come forward to take a picture. We will have the students take their mask off so that you can see their beautiful smile.

We will be counting coins on Tuesday and Wednesday. Each classroom that raises $125 or more will get a popsicle party next week. The class that raises the most money will get a second prize of their choice.

Our last FUNdraiser is on the last day of school! Kona Ice will be at CELC from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. All are invited to stop by and purchase a Kona Ice or ice cream. They take cash, credit, and Venmo!

Weekly Reminders and Updates:

Kindergarten registration is open for the 2021-22 school year. Please spread the word if you know any families with incoming Cubs.
Please keep your student's Chromebook over the summer unless you are leaving the district. Students will have access to ST Math and Lexia. Help keep their skills fresh by practicing a few days a week! There will be an opportunity to purchase insurance for the 2021-22 school year.
The last day of school is Thursday, June 10. We will have a release window for all classes from 12:15 pm to 12:35 pm. Don't forget to pick up a Kona Ice on the way out!

PTA will be selling cute items at the promotion ceremonies. Be sure to bring a little cash. They also have Venmo.
Please report all absences to the office. We are required to trace all absences. Illnesses may require an extended stay at home.
AUSD continues to serve food during our 5-Day Schedule on Mondays from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at JMMS. If that time doesn't work for you, there is also a 5:00 pm pick up.
Child Nutrition Services offers snack pick up for students at CELC during pick up times on Mondays. The grab and go snack bag will contain 5 days worth of snacks. This is available to all students 18 and under.

The district continues to provide free wifi access at CELC, SHES, JMMS, and BOES. Just park in the lot and log in. The wifi name is AlpineUnited and no password is needed.

Don't forget to wear your tie dye shirt and peace signs on Friday. You are always welcome to wear your CELC on Friday instead!

COVID-19 Vaccines

CALFire will once again be at Joan MacQueen Middle on June 9 and 30. They will provide COVID testing and the Pfizer vaccine to those 12 years and older. Mark your calendars and please help spread the word!

Summer Learning Opportunities

The district would like to increase the number of substitute teachers in our pool. The pay has increased to $200 dollars a day. Please help spread the word. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call Mrs. Ripke.
