Message From School Administration Message From School Administration

Dear Lisbon Families,

What an incredible week we have had! It was was wonderful to see so many of our students actively participating in our Bullying Prevention Spirit Week. From themed dress-up days to classroom discussions on kindness and inclusion, our school community truly came together to promote belonging and stand up against bullying. Thank you for supporting these efforts at home and encouraging your children to make our school a welcoming place for everyone.

It is hard to believe that we have already reached the end of the first marking period! The time has flown by, and our students have made wonderful strides both academically and socially. The end of the quarter is October 27th and school will be closed October 28th. Report cards will be visible to families on November 6th.

As November approaches, we are so excited for Community Night and our Thanksgiving Basket distribution! If a Thanksgiving Basket would helpful for your family this year, please don't hesitate to submit a request. You can access the form and learn more using this link. We are eager to serve and support our community!

Have a wonderful weekend,

Dr. Carr & Mrs. Conklin

Toys for Tots Toys for Tots

On behalf of County Executive Calvin Ball, I’m excited to share that we are kicking off our 11th Annual Howard County Toys for Tots Campaign! For the past 11 years, County Executive Ball has partnered with the U.S. Marine Corps and our amazing community partners to help bring joy to children and families throughout Howard County during the holiday season. This initiative has always been about so much more than toys. It’s about giving back, spreading kindness, and coming together as a community to make sure every child has something special to look forward to during the holidays.

We are once again asking for your support to help make this another successful Toys for Tots campaign! Your generosity and willingness to give back truly make a difference, and we couldn't do this without you.

Here is the best way you and your school can help make a difference:

  1. Help Families Register for Toys by October 30th

    • We need your help identifying families who could use extra support this season. You can register for on their behalf or families can register directly here: Family Registration Link.

    • Registration closes, Friday, October 30th , so please encourage and support families signing up as soon as possible.

    Here is the upcoming timeline:

    • October 30: Family Registration Closes

    • Mid-November: Families are notified if they've been accepted/declined, and provided additional information and instructions for distribution

    • December 19: Toys for Tots! Specific time slots will be assigned, but families can anticipate between 9am and noon.

Here are additional ways to support Toys for Tots:

    1. Share the information with organizations or businesses to become a toy collection site. Interested organizations can sign up using this Collection Site Registration Link.

      • They will receive next steps and more information from the Toys for Tots team directly regarding distribution and pickup.

    2. Save the date to volunteer to be a part of holiday spirit with us! We'll follow up with a volunteer link as we get closer.

Related Arts and the Color Calendar Schedule Related Arts and the Color Calendar Schedule

Students participate in Related Arts daily for one hour. There are five related arts classes: Art, Media, Music, Physical Education, and Technology. The rotating schedule is called the Related Arts Color Calendar and can be found in the HCPSS Calendars section above. We rotate days using the color calendar because there are a disproportional number of days off on Mondays and Fridays. Your child's teacher will share their specific Related Arts schedule with you and your child. It is important to make sure your child dresses appropriately for the classes he/she has for related arts, especially for physical education. Please see above for the Related Arts calendars.
