A special moment at Monterey Park School’s Career Day as Dr. Betty Luske, California School Boards Association Immediate Past President, reconnects with her former high school student, Principal Dessert-Villaneda, reflecting a full circle journey and the lasting impact of education, mentorship, and leadership.

The District hopes all students and families enjoyed Attendance Power Week, where each day had a fun theme meant to build excitement and community about coming to school. In addition to the top winner, Los Padres, Loma Vista came on strong and was recognized as having the most improved attendance (almost 6 percent) between the start and end of the week.

Los Padres will be rewarded at a special assembly, with the date to be determined.

Salinas City STEAM Academy will hold an information meeting, for any parents or guardians interested in a virtual-learning environment with frequent in-person events. See below for details.

Planning is well underway for this year's SCESD Summer Day Camp: Oceanography Quest. This year's host sites are Boronda Meadows, Monterey Park, Roosevelt and Sherwood. This exciting camp experience will focus on STEAM learning with an oceanography theme, and will include breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as transportation to camp.

SCESD's camps are free to all District students. Registration is open!
