Water Testing

November 13, 2025

Dear Shoreham Elementary Families,

In 2019 Act 66 passed, it requires all Vermont school districts, supervisory unions, independent schools and child care providers to test their drinking and cooking water for lead. If lead is found at or above the action level of 4 parts per billion (ppb), the school or child care provider must immediately take the tap out of service and take corrective action to eliminate or reduce the amount of lead to below the action level.

With that being said; last spring, test results from two locations in our building water taps indicated that they were above 4 parts per billion (ppb). We were instructed to remedy this over the summer . Our district facilities team completed work to replace the hardware for the taps that tested too high. Currently our numbers are less than 1 part per million .

The Vermont Department of Health requested that we test the taps where work was completed this fall. Our Facilities team took samples and our test results have been reported by Endyne, Inc. and are listed below. Results are also available publicly at LeadResults.vermont.gov.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns at 802-897-7181 or lwhitmoresells@acsdvt.org.

Sincerely,

Lashawn Whitmore-Sells
