Mac El and Pipe Creek - February 27, 2026
From the Principal
What a beautiful way to wrap up the week! Our students truly enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine.
Next week, we’re excited to celebrate Read Across America Week in honor of Dr. Seuss’ Birthday! There will be guest readers during library and we have several fun dress-up days planned (see below for details). Participation is always optional, but we love seeing our students join in the fun as we celebrate reading together.
Families are highly encouraged to join the celebration at home by snuggling up and reading a book with their child. Even a quick 10–15 minutes of reading together makes a huge difference—it builds vocabulary, helps them understand stories better, improves listening, and sparks a lifelong love for books. More than anything, those are the sweet little moments of connection children will truly remember.
A special note for our 2nd and 3rd grade families: IREAD testing will take place on Tuesday, March 3 and Wednesday, March 4. If your child chooses to participate in a dress-up day, please help them select attire that is comfortable and not distracting to themselves or others—especially during testing. Hats, mismatched outfits, and other themed items are welcome, as long as they support a focused testing environment.
We are proud of our students and know they will do their very best. Thank you for partnering with us to make it a positive and successful week!

IMPORTANT - Changes in Transportation
Contact Front Office at your child's building
If there is a change in your child's transportation, whether they will be picked up or riding a bus, it MUST be communicated with the front office. This can be done by sending a note to school or calling the office. If you call the office, please make sure you speak with a person. There is a central list at each elementary school, which allows us to check when students are unsure and the teacher may not be available. Do not just send a message to the teacher. The office MUST be notified. Thank you!
NOTE: Transportation changes should be in to the office by 2:00 pm.

Background Checks & Photo IDs
We love having you visit our schools! To ensure the safety of all our students, anyone who wishes to volunteer or have lunch with their student must first complete a volunteer background check. You can find the link under the Parent Resources tab on our website.
A friendly reminder: for the safety of our students, please remember to bring your photo ID whenever you visit the school for any reason, including student pickup, lunch, or meetings.
