Dear Coppell Choir Family,

We are extremely proud of all the singers who auditioned at Area auditions last weekend, and we extend a special congratulations to the five singers who earned a place in an All-State Choir. The dedication, preparation, and artistry demonstrated by every student who auditioned is truly commendable, and we are incredibly proud of each and every one of them.

In-Class Solo Performances will take place this week. Students should be aware of their assigned performance day and arrive dressed appropriately and fully prepared to perform on their scheduled date.

We will also host our Voice Studio Recitals after school this week. We are excited to welcome parents into our new choir room as students showcase the excellent work they have been doing with their private voice instructors.

Additionally, the Region 31 Solo & Ensemble Contest will take place this Saturday. Please review the schedule carefully and plan to arrive at least 20 minutes before your assigned performance time for check-in. Students are free to leave once they have completed their performance.

Thank you for your continued support of our singers and program. We are looking forward to a week filled with music, growth, and celebration.

• Region 31 Solo Contest

The UIL Solo Contest will take place on Saturday, January 24th, at Coppell High School 🏫🎶

Thank you for your prompt attention to this important deadline.

Make sure you are ready to perform your in class solo on the day you are scheduled.

Your grade will be following the following Performance Rubric:

• Pitch & Rhythm - 20 points

  Accurate and well centered pitches with clear and clean rhythms throughout.

• Musical Expression & Stage Presence - 20 points
  

  Appropriate dynamics, articulations and phrasing in appropriate musical style. Strong and relaxed singing posture throughout without fidgeting . Exudes confidence and appropriate facial expressions.

• Performance Etiquette - 20 points
  

  Proper introduction: Singer's name, Title of piece, Composer/arranger.

  Singer bows at completion

  Acknowledges accompanist

  
  

• Performance Attire - 20 points

  Business Casual / Sunday's Best (NO jeans, t-shirts, shorts, hoodie, flip-flops, tennis shoes, sandals, etc.)

  
  

• Memory - 20 points
  All words, pitches and rhythms are sung correctly 100% of the time from memory.

Volunteer Communication Update
We wish Mrs. Conkovich all the best as she begins her maternity leave from September 15th to December 12th! We’re excited to welcome Mr. Lee as her long-term substitute!

During this time, our amazing VP of Events, Kit Ciura and Mary Alvarado, will serve as the Volunteer Coordinators. Please keep an eye out for emails from vpevents@coppellchoir.com for all future volunteer communications, and feel free to reach out to them directly with any questions about volunteering.

Parents have to opt in for health-related services as mandated by law. The clinic will not be able help them if this is not complete. If possible, please share this link with students and parents. Parents are asked to complete a separate consent form for each student enrolled in CISD. The form is also linked on the CHS Website under Health Services Consent form.
