Final Messagefrom Mrs. McCoyWeek of May 28, 2026

Dear Caregivers and Community Members,

As many of you already know, today marks the end of an important chapter in my life. After 27 years of service, I have made the decision to resign from Berkeley County Schools. Of those years, I have proudly spent the last 11 at Mill Creek.

I want to sincerely thank this community for the unwavering love, encouragement, and support you have shown me throughout my career. I can honestly say that I am leaving a profession I have truly loved, and I recognize how fortunate I am to conclude this chapter with such gratitude and pride.

Berkeley County Schools has shaped both my personal and professional life in countless ways. Not only have I spent my entire career serving this district, but I am also the daughter of a retired teacher from Inwood Primary, a graduate of Musselman High School, and the proud parent of two Musselman graduates. Berkeley County will always hold a special place in my heart, and I firmly believe its future is bright because of the exceptional teachers, students, families, community members, and leaders who make it such a remarkable place.

Although I am leaving public education, I will continue serving this community in a different capacity through my work with a nonprofit organization that supports children and families within the foster care system. I look forward to continuing to make a positive difference in the lives of children and families in our area.

As I close this chapter, I would like to leave you with one final piece of advice: continue investing in your children and in this community. Be actively involved in your child’s education and daily life. When they come home each day, ask them to share three good things that happened and one thing they hope to improve tomorrow. Take time to review grades and assignments regularly, communicate with teachers, and attend school events and activities whenever possible. Your involvement and support are among the greatest gifts you can give your children.

Thank you again for your kindness, well wishes, encouragement, and support over the years. It has truly been an honor to serve this community.

With sincere gratitude,

Mrs. McCoy, Proud Principal of Mill Creek Intermediate

Beth McCoy
