RES Glow Dance
We are excited to see everyone at the Let's Glow Crazy Dance, sponsored by the PTA, next Saturday, March 7th! We'll have face painting, a balloon artist, a photo booth, a DJ for dancing, and food trucks for purchased food and drinks. Please remember that there will be no drop off at the event and that every student must have a parent or guardian at the school while they attend the dance. Please see the link below for the permission slip or ask your teacher for a copy. Can't wait to see everyone there!
Interested in Getting Involved with the RES PTA?
We’re now accepting interest forms for the 2026–2027 PTA Board! If you’ve ever thought about getting more involved, this is a great opportunity to support our students, staff, and school community. Every position comes with mentorship from the previous board member, so you won’t be jumping in alone.

Chorus Updates
4th and 5th grade Chorus students will perform at the school board meeting on Tuesday, March 10th at 6:00pm. Please arrive by 5:45. As soon as students are finished performing, you are free to leave.
Attendance Updates
Did you know? Attendance Works defines chronic absenteeism as missing 10% or more of the school year for any reason (excused or unexcused). That’s just two days a month! Chronic absenteeism can make it harder for students to keep up academically and socially. If your family is facing attendance challenges, please reach out. We are here to help.
Stronger Together: GCPS Wellness Night Fun Run/Walk!
We are excited to invite you to join us for the upcoming GCPS Wellness Night – Stronger Together Fun Run/Walk! This fun-filled evening will take place on Wednesday, April 8th from 5:00–7:00 PM (gates open at 5:00 PM, run/walk begins at 5:30 PM) at the Goochland High School Football Stadium.
This event is designed to promote health and wellness among our students, families, and staff across Goochland County Public Schools. There will be delicious food trucks, games, bouncy houses, door prizes, and an opportunity to participate in a fun run/walk featuring colorful chalk along the course.
Whether you’re ready to run, walk, play, or simply connect with others in our community, there will be something for everyone.
We’re looking forward to seeing our GCPS community and continuing the work we do together.
Share Your Child’s Artistic Talents!
On April 23rd, our school will come together to celebrate the creativity of our students with a family themed art event! We invite you to send digital photos of your child engaged in any form of art—singing, playing a musical instrument, dancing, painting, drawing, acting, or any other artistic expression.
These submissions will be featured on a bulletin board in our hallway to showcase the amazing talents in our school community.
If you would like to participate, email your files to our School Librarian, Susan Vaughan: svaughan@glnd.k12.va.us by March 13th.
*Please send no more than a maximum of 2 photos per student.
