Join us at "Cookin' At the O" as we celebrate the incredible talents of David Hazeltine, the most recorded contemporary jazz pianist of our time, having recorded thirty five cd’s as a leader and hundreds more as a sideman, on various major labels globally and Lucia Newell, a incredible vocalist that has performed in jazz clubs, concert halls and festivals around the world - two years at Clube 21 in Rio de Janeiro, six months at El Señorial in Mexico City, and in concert with the great Billy Eckstine, the Rio Jazz Orchestra, Oscar Castro Neves, Osmar Milito, Nilson Matta, Luiz Eça, Celia Vaz, Departure Point, and she can be heard on recordings for Windham Hill, CBS, Warner Bros., MCA, GIA, Atlantic, A&M and Virgin Records, recording with Ben Sidran, Thelma Houston, Paula Abdul, Patty Austin, and others in London, New York, Los Angeles, Rio, and at home in Minneapolis.

We will be offering the summer food bags again this year. You can also visit our website to sign up here - https://www.unitedwaycarltoncounty.org/get-involved. There is also a section for pick-up locations for the food bags.

We are seeking volunteers for our Day of Action, scheduled for June 13th. We have three community projects. Repainting of the UW Born Learning Trail at Hilltop Park in Cloquet, painting benches and picnic tables at the Braun Park in Cloquet, and installing fencing at the Tri-Community Food Shelf in Cromwell. Another volunteer opportunity for the summer is to assist with the Summer Food Bags program. We are looking for help assembling food bags every Wednesday from 1-3 pm, starting June 11th. And every Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., deliver food bins to pick-up sites. We are assembling the food bags at the Holy Smokes building.
