HEARTLAND ELEMENTARY- week of NOVEMBER 30, 2025
Greetings from the Principal
Greetings Heartland Families!
Welcome Back! I hope all of you had a nice and relaxing holiday. It is hard to believe tomorrow is December 1st and that we have 15 school days left until our Winter break. These next 15 days will go very fast and will be very busy.
We want to say THANK YOU again to our PTO for supporting our students last week as they all got to enjoy the bounce houses and our 4th and 5th grade students got to celebrate their efforts at Malibu Jacks. All students enjoyed themselves and were very surprised. Thank you everyone for helping us surprise our students.
Next week, starting on Monday, December 8th, all students, kindergarten-5th grade will start their Winter iReady testing. This week, teachers and admin, will be goal setting with students and talking to then about doing their best and taking their time. It is essential students do their best and put forth great effort so that they can be placed appropriately on their individual learning path. Students will not get to retake their test so it is very important they do their best. Please encourage them to do their best, get a good night's sleep and eat a good breakfast. We will do our iReady math test on Monday and Tuesday, then reading on Wednesday and Thursday. As long as students are working and using their time wisely, they get extended time. Make ups and students who need extended time will finish on Friday, December 12. Monday, December 15th is also set aside for those that need extra time or need to make up their test for absences.
Please make sure if your student is dropped off in the morning that they are in their classroom by 7:30AM. If your child is dropped off in the morning and they like to get breakfast, please remind them to get breakfast and go straight to class before the 2nd bell. Anything after the second bell/7:30AM will be counted tardy and teachers mark them as absent. This policy is listed in our student handbook which can be found at the link at the end of this newsletter.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful week! We look forward to seeing over the next few weeks as we celebrate the holidays with you.
Respectfully,
Emily Campbell
Principal
