February Counseling Happenings
Counselors are regularly working with students on their academic and personal needs. This month, however, the primary focus has been finalizing registration and coordinating special programming for students, including Junior Conferences. Counselors are meeting one-on-one with every junior to review graduation requirements and discuss future plans. During these meetings, they explore college, military, and career-based options based on each student’s interests and goals. They also review the requirements for each pathway, including applications, testing, scholarships, and financial aid opportunities. After the meeting, parents and students will receive a Junior Conference Sheet that includes helpful links and a summary of the discussion points. Please encourage your junior to sign up if they have not yet had their conference. Counselors will complete Junior Meetings by April 1, with many hoping to meet with their students before Spring Break.

Summer Opportunities
Is your student looking for an opportunity to move their future plans forward — or simply hoping to try something new and different? Kristen Foss, one of our fabulous Administrative Assistants, has compiled a comprehensive resource sheet featuring a wide range of opportunities. These options range from local experiences to programs farther away and provide exposure to fields such as health careers, engineering, music production, and many more.
We hope that you found this information helpful and we look forward to continuing to partner with you. If you have any questions please contact your student's counselor.
