A Message From Your Principal

Dear EWS Families,

It is always a joy to watch our community come together to celebrate the growth, hard work, and milestones of our students—both past and present.

A huge congratulations to our wonderful first graders, who hosted their traditional Author's Tea this week. It was beautiful to see them proudly sharing their hard work and published pieces with their families. We are all immensely proud of their creativity, dedication, and the remarkable academic growth they have shown throughout this school year. Way to go, first grade!

This week, we also had the absolute privilege of welcoming back the Marshfield High School Graduates of 2026 who previously attended Eames Way. The seniors completed their traditional graduate walk through our hallways one last time, cheered on by enthusiastic students and staff celebrating this massive milestone in their lives. Following the walk, our entire school gathered in the Dining Room to recognize each senior and listen to them share their favorite memories of their time here at EWS. Reflecting with our current students throughout the day, it was clear how deeply impactful this tradition is. It is truly inspirational for our younger students to see these graduates and picture themselves walking through these same halls when they reach the end of their educational careers in Marshfield!

Additionally, our second graders had a fantastic field trip to the Roger Williams Zoo this week. They had a wonderful time exploring and learning, and we want to extend a huge thank you to our amazing PTO for their continued support in funding and organizing these enriching experiences for our students. Thank you all for your continued partnership in making Eames Way such a special place to learn and grow. Have a wonderful weekend!

Warmly,

Ms. Bishop

Bus registration is now open for bus transportation for the 2026-27 school year. Registration should be completed for all students whether they plan on taking the bus or not.

Registration will close on June 15, 2026 and any student not registered by that time is not guaranteed bus transportation for the 2026-27 school year. Bus routes and staffing will be planned based on applications and payments received on or before the deadline. Any applications received after the deadline will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

In accordance with state regulations, the transportation user fee of $180 per student with a $360 family maximum fee only applies to students in grades K-6 who live closer than 2 miles from their school and ALL students in grades 7-12 who choose to ride the bus. Please note, any student in grades K-6 who lives 2 or more miles from their school DOES NOT have to pay a transportation user fee but does have to register for bus transportation.

Please read the following before beginning registration: MPSD Transportation FAQ

Please begin your registration by visiting Aspen Bus Registration Instructions*

When logging into your student’s workflow, you will see your student’s information along with the following:

· Distance to School (as measured in Google Maps)

· No Bus Zone (District determination of student eligibility to ride)

· Payment Required (Determination of fee based on grade and distance to school)

If you have any questions regarding registration, please email transportation@mpsd.org

If you are unable to access the portal, the fastest way to reset your own password is to click “Trouble logging in?” on the Aspen login screen, then select “Reset your password”. If you still cannot access your account, please contact aspen@mpsd.org for support.

Seasonal allergies (hay fever or seasonal allergic rhinitis):

  • Occur when outdoor molds release their spores or trees, grasses and weeds release tiny pollen particles into the air
  • Usually develop by 10 years of age
  • The immune system releases histamine into the bloodstream to defend against these allergens and the release of these chemicals are what causes the symptoms

Treatment of allergies - no real cure for seasonal allergies, but it is possible to relieve symptoms:

  • Reducing or eliminating exposure to allergens- keep windows closed, use air conditioning if possible and change your air filter often

  • Remove shoes at the door to avoid tracking allergens to the rest of the house

  • Wash hands and face after being outside and try to avoid touching your face

  • Rinse off in the shower or tub before bed

  • Change pillow cases often during allergy season

  • If reducing exposure to allergens isn’t possible or is ineffective reach out to your primary care provider about available medication options(non-drowsy antihistamines, nasal sprays and eye drops)

Reminders as the weather changes:

  • Hydration: Please be sure your child brings a water bottle to school each day-preferably one that is easily refillable at our refill stations.

  • Snacks: Please remember to send in a healthy snack for your child everyday.

  • Clothing: Have children dress in layers-the building can become quite warm, and children can overheat very easily.

  • Sun safety: Sunscreen must be applied at home before coming to school.

  • Tick safety: There has been an increase in the prevalence of ticks. Parents should frequently check their children for ticks, especially around the ankles, legs, and head region after coming inside from any outdoor activities.

Attention Grade 5 Parent/Guardians:

Postural screenings(“scoliosis screenings”) are now complete. Referral letters have been sent home to those needing follow up evaluations.

Breakfast and lunch are free options to all students for the 2025-2026 school year. Please note, breakfast is available upon arrival from 8:35-8:50 am, however, students can also get breakfast during the morning once the school day starts if they skipped breakfast or forgot their snack. For more information, please visit MPSD School Nutrition.

My School Bucks is an online account for families to easily manage and pay for school meals, a la carte items (such as ice cream), etc. These accounts stay with students throughout grades K-12 and funds can be replenished when balances get low. Here's the information from the MPSD Nutrition webpage on how to set up your account - My School Bucks.

Volunteering at EWS Volunteering at EWS

In order to volunteer at EWS for school events or in the classroom, parents/guardians need to have an approved CORI on file.

CORI applications need to be redone every few years and we are currently in a three-year cycle covering 2023-2026. All volunteers need to complete a CORI, even if you were approved prior to 2023. Please visit the Front Office to complete a CORI application and provide a copy of your license - it will only take a minutes. Applications are then reviewed by MPSD Central Office, which can take up to a week to process. If you have any questions, please contact Val Quigley (781-834-5090 or vquigley@mpsd.org).

However, to clarify, if you have an approved CORI from last year, it is still valid for this school year!
