TimberwolfFamily News October 10th, 2025

A message from your principal A message from your principal

Hello Evergreen Families,

Dear Families,

Our Instructional Learning Day on Friday was purposeful and had impact. We dug into equitable instruction and customer service. We learned more about our improved framework for teaching and how it crosswalks with culturally responsive practices. We also spent time digging into what rigor looks like in the learning. This was a day of learning and planning!

If you have not looked into ParentVue, the family portal for accessing student attendance, grades, and more, please consider getting that set up. It can be very helpful in seeing how your child is doing in each class as well as looking at their attendance. You can access it through our website. Click on Grades and More and you will see the link. You can log in there or set up your account. It is well worth it!

On a side note, please help students to remember to charge their Chromebooks at night. They are used in many classes to access their textbooks and lessons.

If you have any questions or you have a concern, please reach out to your admin team. We are here in service to your child/ren.

Enjoy your weekend!

Sincerely,

Sara Idle

Washington State Healthy Youth Survey 2025

Our school is participating in the Washington State Healthy Youth Survey during fall 2025. The survey will be given to students in Grades 6, 8, 10 and 12 in large districts and students in Grades 6 through 12 in small school districts. The Healthy Youth Survey includes questions related to physical activity, unintentional and intentional injury, substance use, interpersonal relationships, school experiences, risk and protective factors, and access to school-based services. Survey results are used by schools, communities, and State agencies to plan programs to support our youth and reduce their risks. Participation in the survey is voluntary and steps are taken to ensure student privacy.

There are no names or codes used to link a survey back to a student.

Fall Conferences Coming in November Fall Conferences Coming in November

Across our district, two specific days each fall are designated as non-school days, dedicated to Family/Teacher Conferences. This year, those two days are Monday, November 3rd, and Tuesday, November 4th. School will not be in session on those days as we hold both for needed opportunities to connect with our families. School will resume for our students that Wednesday, November 5th and will conclude that week, on Friday, November 7th, with a 11:35am dismissal day.

Our format for Fall Conferences is an intentional mix of in-person and scheduled options. We will offer open windows to provide families with opportunities to meet with each of their child's teachers. Additionally, teachers will be able to schedule in-person or online conferences to discuss specific needs. Additional information is forthcoming but for now, please see the below schedule for open and schedule windows on 11/3 and 11/4.

Cascade High School—International Baccalaureate Diploma Program Cascade High School—International Baccalaureate Diploma Program

  • Cascade High School (CHS) is now a Candidate School for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program. The school is working toward authorization as an IB World School, joining more than 4,000 schools worldwide that share a common philosophy: a commitment to high-quality, challenging, and international education. This commitment is one that both CHS and Everett Public Schools believe is essential for our students.

The IB Diploma Program is a two-year course sequence during a student’s junior and senior years. CHS will provide guidance for students in grades 8-10 that will prepare them for the IB Diploma Program that begins their junior year of high school.

Program Information Night(s):

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Department is excited to share that eligible students can receive free year-long haircuts through the Kutz 4 Kidz program! This incredible program is sponsored by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Snohomish County and the Coverson Family.

Who’s eligible?
Kutz 4 Kidz supports homeless, low-income families, and students receiving free or reduced lunch, with a special focus on African American students and those facing economic hardships.

How to get vouchers?
Visit your school’s front office or speak to your school counselor, family specialist, or KIT coordinator for more information.

ECEAP ECEAP

Do you have an eligible 3- or 4-year-old student living within the district boundaries? Everett Public Schools ECEAP is currently enrolling children for the 2025-2026 school year and space is still available!

Program eligibility is based on family income, and/or developmental or environmental risk factors that could interfere with the student’s school success. Families who qualify for free/reduced meals or DSHS Basic Food likely qualify for ECEAP.

If you are interested and have questions about ECEAP please contact eceap@everettsd.org or call (425) 385-4628

Fill out your CNEEB Form Today! Fill out your CNEEB Form Today!

Everett Public Schools uses the CNEEB form to determine which families qualify for Free & Reduced (F&R) meals.

The F&R Meals Application is more than just a lunch. Students who qualify for F&R meals may also be eligible to receive other benefits, including reduced ASB, sports, and AP exam fees, as well as a variety of benefits in their local communities. Certain school funding is also closely linked with student F&R meal rates.

Federal law requires all students to have access to meal applications, and Everett Public Schools encourages all families to apply for benefits, if they believe they are eligible. September is a critical time to connect with families seeking benefits, as district F&R rates are finalized in October. CNEEB Applications and informational post cards have been delivered to every school office. Families may also complete applications online by visiting www.myschoolapps.com.

The online application is available in seven languages.

Seattle Children's Psychiatric Urgent Care Clinic Seattle Children's Psychiatric Urgent Care Clinic

Seattle Children’s is happy to announce the opening Sept. 30 of a new Psychiatric Urgent Care Clinic, the first pediatric-focused psychiatric urgent care in Washington state. We hope you will share this information with your teams.

What: Same-day in-person and virtual (video) visits providing mental and behavioral health crisis assessment, initial treatment recommendations and referral to follow-up resources in the community. Care is provided by our experienced team of licensed mental health therapists, family advocates/case managers, psychiatric advanced practice providers (APPs) and medical assistants.

Who: Designed for youth ages 4 through 17 who are experiencing a mental health crisis and need same-day intervention but do not need the services of an emergency department (ED). We care for all Washington youth ages 4 through 17, including children and teens with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities.

When: Open daily from noon to 8 p.m.; closed on major holidays.

Where: We see youth in person at Seattle Children’s Magnuson, located at 6901 Sand Point Way NE in Seattle, and through video visits from anywhere in Washington state. We recommend scheduling a same-day in-person appointment online or getting in the virtual line for a video visit. We have very limited capacity to see walk-ins and cannot guarantee walk-in access.

Please encourage families who live outside the Seattle area to use the virtual/video option. They must be physically in Washington state during the video visit.

How: Before scheduling a visit, learn whether to go to Psychiatric Urgent Care or an ED. A referral is not required.

  • For in-person visits, schedule a same-day appointment online. (Scheduling opens at 12:01 am daily.)
  • For video visits from anywhere in Washington state, get in the virtual line to be seen. (The first spots in virtual line open at 11:30 am daily.)
  • Please note that spots in the virtual line will open up throughout the clinic day, please encourage youth and families to regularly check back for availability.
  • Please note we have very limited capacity to see walk-ins and cannot guarantee walk-in access. Please encourage patients/families to schedule an in-person appointment online or get in the virtual line to be seen for a video visit.

Why: This new service – the first of its kind in the Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho region – is part of Seattle Children’s ongoing commitment to building out the continuum of care to ensure children and teens receive the right level of care at the right time. Psychiatric Urgent Care is intended to connect children and teens in Washington state to faster crisis assessment and follow-up resources in the community.

Please note that patients seen in the Psychiatric Urgent Care Clinic will not access other outpatient psychiatry services at Seattle Children’s faster than those referred through the normal process.
