Principal Message

Dear North Star Families,

We are in the homestretch of the school year and cherishing these final weeks with our students. It has been incredible to watch how much they have grown academically, socially, and emotionally while building meaningful connections throughout the year. We have many exciting school events and activities planned between now and the end of the year, and we hope to see you there!

Culture of Care

Thank you for the care and kind words you have shared with our staff throughout Staff Appreciation Week. Your messages and gestures have meant more to them than you may realize. I am continually inspired by their dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to our students each and every day. Thank you for taking the time to show your appreciation - it has truly made a meaningful impact.

Joyful Exploration

The Missoula Children’s Theatre has been at North Star this week, working with students as they rehearse and prepare for Friday’s performances. It has already been an incredible experience for our school community. A key focus this year has been intentionally embedding opportunities for performance throughout students’ experiences at North Star to build confidence, collaboration, and comfort presenting in front of an audience. Through this process, students are developing lifelong skills while also experiencing the joy and creativity that come with learning through performance.

Academic Growth

Our 3–5 grade students are currently in the midst of state testing, and we are so proud of their hard work, perseverance, and effort. Throughout the month of May, all students will also participate in end-of-year assessments in Reading, Math, and Social Learning. The information gathered helps inform report cards and provides valuable insight as we begin planning for the upcoming school year.

With gratitude,

Beth Martin

5th Grade Portraits

5th Grade portraits are here and on display! Last year we started a new tradition of having portraits taken of our 5th graders to capture their unique selves at this point in their lives. It is heartwarming to see both children and adults stop and appreciate our 5th graders. If you can, come check them out!

Volunteer Background Check

If you are interested in going on a field trip with your student’s class, or think you may be interested in the next few years, please fill out a volunteer background check! It takes 48-72 hours to clear, and is valid for two years. Please consider filling this out! If you have not filled it out, or it hasn’t yet cleared, you will not be able to go on a field trip or volunteer with your student’s class. There will be no exceptions.
