SAT's

Parents/Guardians the SAT will be offered on March 13, 2025, and the following week March 17-March 20, 2025. We will have two testing sessions a day; however, due to scheduling conflicts for Juniors there will be days with only one testing session. Please make sure your students show up for their scheduled testing time. There will only be two make up times to test, those dates are Wednesday March 19, 2025 in the afternoon, and Thursday March 20, 2025 in the afternoon. Due to a school trip being moved from Spring Break, the number of students signing up, and limited testing space we did the best we could to schedule and accommodate all testing requests. Students will be emailed the first part of March through their school email the day and time they are scheduled to test. Students that signed up for the SAT will be given testing tickets the first part of February. The testing tickets will allow students to make sure their information is up to date before the test and will allow the students to have practice tests for free through BlueBook which should be on their school iPads. If you have any questions or concerns about the SAT, please contact Ms. Hansen in the counseling office.

National Honor Society

National Honor Society (NHS) has their annual induction ceremony on Thursday,

February 6th at 6:30 PM in the BPAC. We encourage all parents/guardians of invited

students to attend. Membership in Honor Society is one of the highest honors that can

be awarded to a high school student. The NHS has worked hard to bring the

accomplishments of outstanding students to the attention of parents, teachers, peers,

and community.

No student is inducted simply because of a high academic average. The National Honor

Society strives to recognize the total student: one who excels in these areas. The

standards used for your selection were the following:

· Scholarship--grade point of 3.5 or higher and four honors credits each year

· Leadership, Service, and Character--as demonstrated by activities and teacher evaluations

Membership, however, is more than an honor. It incurs a responsibility and an obligation

to demonstrate those outstanding qualities that resulted in your selection.

Congratulations to our Honor Society Inductees!

Career and Technical Education Programs

February is CTE (Career and Technical Education) Month, and the Family and Consumer Sciences programs are doing incredible things in our school community! We’re excited to highlight the amazing work of our students this month.

On February 13th, our district will host the STAR Event competition, where students will showcase their skills and talents in various categories. This competition provides an excellent opportunity for students to demonstrate their leadership, knowledge, and expertise in fields like culinary arts, early childhood education, and more.

Speaking of culinary, our Culinary Arts program continues to shine each week as students prepare and serve delicious, nutritious lunches. Not only are they honing their cooking skills, but they’re also gaining valuable experience in teamwork, time management, and customer service.

Meanwhile, our Early Childhood Education students are also busy this month, putting their learning into practice as they plan, organize, and implement activities for young children. Their work fosters an environment of growth and creativity, preparing them for future careers in teaching and childcare.

We’re proud of the hard work and dedication of all our Family and Consumer Sciences students and can’t wait to see what they achieve throughout February and beyond!

We have beautiful ground covers, flowering annuals, perennials, foliages, vegetables, and more! It may be cold outside but we are excited to be out in our warm greenhouses every day.

Introducing New Staff:

Dear Blackfoot High School Students, Parents & Staff

My name is Kendra Benally and I am excited to join the Blackfoot School District #55 family as the Indian Education Family Liaison and be able to work alongside so many amazing students, families and staff.

Over the past 11 years I have worked with the Shoshone Bannock Tribes Tribal Youth Education Program as a Liaison for grades 7th-12th. I am a Shoshone Bannock Tribal member and have proudly lived on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation my whole life. Due to Fort Hall being my home, I am very familiar with many families, their culture, and their traditions on the reservation.

My plans for assisting Native American students reaching their peak success in the Blackfoot School District is:

  • Meet with BHS Native American students regularly to discuss attendance and grades.

  • Communicate with parents/guardians as well as teachers in regards to student(s) academic progress.

  • Be able to advocate for Native American students in regards to educational goals or any issues that may arise which are affecting their education.

  • Assist BHS Indigenous Club in activities, and events.

  • Can perform outreach on behalf of the school district to our Native American families

I am excited to work with everybody and I look forward to developing relationships built on trust with the students, families and staff.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Best Regards,

Kendra Benally
