CLASS NEWS CLASS NEWS

What a Sense-sational Week in PK4!

We had an incredible week exploring the world through our five senses and diving into math patterns!

Here is a look at what kept us busy:

  • Exploring Our 5 Senses: We played I Spy, Telephone, and mystery bag, matched scents, had a musical dance party, and charted our favorite taste-test flavors!

  • Dot Day & Art: We created a community dot room and made dot art with our Chapel Buddies to decorate our classroom windows.

  • Math Patterns: We practiced making, finding, and extending patterns using our bodies, sound, pom-poms, and stickers.

  • Special Moments: The children did an INCREDIBLE job acolyting all week! We are also looking forward to welcome another round of grandparents for lunch today.

And a BIG thank you to everyone who signed up to be a Mystery Reader—we can’t wait to have you!

Next Week we'll turn our attention to Our Families and thanks to YOU our family photo wall is complete 🎉....but it is missing our pets! Please send me pictures 📸 of your furry, feathered, or scaly friends! Your kiddos don't need to be in the picture, but they can be! And if you don't have a pet at home you're welcome to send a picture of a pet you'd like to have or a picture of their favorite stuffy.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Math Focus for Next Week:

We are bringing math to life by graphing real data about our class! The children will practice counting, comparing "more" vs. "less," and interpreting data through hands-on graphing activities. We’ll build a "living graph" of our family sizes, create picture graphs for siblings, object-graph our pets, and tally our favorite family activities!

ELAR Focus for Next Week:

Next week, we are stepping into our "My Family" theme! We’ll read stories about different kinds of families, share traditions, and build rich vocabulary as we talk about who makes up our home circles. Through drawings, story discussions, and our classroom Family Photo Wall, the children will practice oral storytelling and celebrating what makes each of our homes unique.
