Hello,

Participation in homecoming activities has been amazing this week. We are looking forward to the parade tomorrow at 5:30 p.m., followed by the game at 7 p.m. against the Dunwoody Wildcats. Please encourage your students to take advantage of the food, fun, and games that will take place starting at 4 p.m. in front of the school. Please click here and take a moment to review details about the game and the dance.

It is not too late to join the DHS PTSA. We know that as students get older, they donโ€™t always want their parents around, but there are so many ways to provide support. The PTSA provides volunteers, grants, teacher appreciation activities, wellness opportunities and much, much more. Please sign up today!

Sincerely,

Duane Sprull, Ed.D.

CSD Hosting MCV4 Booster Immunization Event for 10th-Graders

City Schools of Decaturโ€™s School Health Team is partnering with DeKalb Public Health to host an immunization event to offer the meningococcal (MCV4) booster to 10th-grade students who need this vaccine.

The MCV4 vaccine helps protect against meningococcal disease. In Georgia, students must receive the MCV4 booster at age 16 to enter 11th grade if their immunization has expired.

The CSD School Health Team will contact parents and guardians directly if their student is not up to date with this booster vaccine. If your student's immunization record is up to date, no further action is required.

The immunization event will take place Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 2-4 p.m. in the DHS Hospitality Suite. Parents or guardians are not required to be present. To receive the vaccine at this event, complete and return the DeKalb Public Health consent form (linked below), and bring a copy of your Driverโ€™s License or state ID, and your insurance card (front and back). Students who do not have insurance will not be denied services.

Click here to access the consent form. We can also send the consent form home with your student to return to the school clinic, if needed.
