Dear Austin Families,

This has been a full and meaningful week as we begin to wrap up another school year.

After more than 16 years at Austin Elementary, there is a rhythm to this time of year that never gets old. Each fall, I watch our youngest learners—PreK and Kindergarten students—walk through our doors, sometimes with tears, sometimes unsure, but always full of potential. Over the years, they grow in confidence, curiosity, and independence, building the foundation for everything that comes next.

At the same time, our 4th graders are preparing to leave us, ready to take that next step to intermediate school. It is always a mix of pride and a little sadness as we send them on their way.

And then, one of my favorite traditions—welcoming back our graduating seniors. Seeing them return in their caps and gowns, standing tall in the same halls where they once learned their letters and played under that massive parachute, is a powerful reminder of just how far our students can go.

Every class that walks through our doors is special. Within each group are the future leaders, problem-solvers, caregivers, and innovators who will shape our communities and our country. It is a privilege to be part of their journey, and I know our families share in that pride.

Thank you for trusting us with your children and for being part of the Austin Elementary story.

The Conroe ISD School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) assists the district in ensuring that local community values are reflected in the health and physical education programs as well as other responsibilities required by the State of Texas and the CISD Board of Trustees. The SHAC will address the continued implementation of a coordinated health program.

If you are interested in being considered for SHAC membership, please complete the application below. Before applying, it is recommended that applicants read the CISD SHAC Bylaws located on the SHAC website as well as Texas Education Code Section 28.004 and School Health Advisory Council: A Guide for Texas School Districts to better understand the expectations and legal directives for the SHAC.

This camp has age-appropriate activities, especially tailored for current Kindergarten through 8th Graders.
