Fire Truck Visits Milton School Fire Truck Visits Milton School

Thank you to the Jefferson Fire Department for teaching our students about fire safety and giving them the opportunity to explore a ladder truck! Mrs. Kasa put on the firefighter gear to show students that while firefighters may look unfamiliar or even a little scary in their equipment, there is a friendly face underneath, ready to help in an emergency. On the second day, Mrs. Kasa even got to ride in the bucket and soar high above Milton School! We appreciate our firefighters for making this such a memorable learning experience!

Please keep the color Bus Tags on the students' book bags - these are for PM buses only to help us stay organized inside for dismissal.

ARRIVAL:

When students exit the bus, faculty and staff will direct them to their homerooms. Please ensure they are wearing their name tags and practice who your child's HR teacher is. This information helps when we are trying to direct them in the morning.

DISMISSAL:

At dismissal teachers will walk students to their buses but we ask that you review your child's bus letter with them. In the Parent Portal summary tab, you can see your child's bus route information. It is easy to think that the student is on bus A or P, but that stands for AM and PM. MSECC stands for Milton School Early Childhood Center.

Please make sure the child brings a snack that they are able to finish within that time frame. We encourage students to bring a healthy snack to school. In a severe storm or some other emergency, the decision to close school or begin on a delayed opening basis is made by 6:15 a.m.. A delayed opening is 2 hours in duration. Buses will pick up students approximately 2 hours later than their regularly scheduled time. A delayed opening may result in a closing if conditions worsen after the initial announcement is made. If a storm develops during the day, a decision may be made to close school earlier than the regular dismissal time. A notification will go out as soon as we know.
