Blazer Bulletin for August 14 - 18

Dear Trail Blazer Community
Blazing New Trails!
Blazer community, our students have had a great first week back on campus. It has been great seeing their faces and getting to know them.
This week, the administrative team will meet with each class (seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen) in the auditorium to review campus expectations and procedures. Much of the information that will be shared is also contained in the FISD Student Handbook. Parents/Guardians, please take a moment to review these expectations with your students at home.
We look forward to welcoming our Trail Blazer families to campus on Monday August 21, 2023 from 6pm-7:30pm for Meet the Teacher Night. This event will provide families with the opportunity to view the campus, to meet our staff, and to learn more about what students will be learning this school year. We hope to see you there!
Student Dress Code
Coming back from summer, it is common for administrators to have to address:
See-through, strapless, bare midriff, underwear-type sports bras, beachwear, swimwear, tube tops, low-cut clothing, and clothing with inappropriate slogans which aren’t permitted.
Students in violation of the student dress and grooming code will be expected to change to appropriate attire (provided by the school when possible) when violations occur. Students will not be allowed to leave campus for the purpose of changing clothes. Parent drop-offs are also not permitted. Students who refuse to meet this requirement of compliance with the Dress and Grooming Code may spend the day in In-School Suspension. Click Here to access the FISD Dress Code.
Late Arrival & Early Release Reminder
Students with late arrival should plan on arriving daily just before 2nd period (10:30am). There are no early cafeteria or Library independent study times during 1st period.
Students with early release should plan on leaving daily by 3pm. There are no late cafeteria or library independent study times during 4th period.Welcome our new SRO
Hi everyone! My name is Officer Jared Hudson with the Frisco Police Department. I have been a Law Enforcement Officer since 2015, and strengthening community relationships has always been a top priority in my career. I am married to my wife Chelsea and together we have three children. When I am not working, I enjoy playing video games and watching Marvel movies with my family. I look forward to meeting everyone and serving the LT community as best as I can.
Campus Safety & Security
Exterior Door Security
Staff and students may not prop exterior doors or open the doors for ANYONE. Appropriate consequences will be issued to students who compromise campus safety & security. Consequences may include a placement at the alternative school (DAEP). Exterior doors are checked every period to ensure that they are shutting and locking securely.
Crosswalk Safety
Students are required to remove headphones (at least one ear bud) when navigating the crosswalks during arrival and dismissal times. Earbuds & headphones represent a safety risk to our students as they prevent students from hearing safety instructions and may lead to accidents. Students must walk their bikes across the crosswalk. Please encourage your students to be vigilant and to follow instructions given during arrival and dismissal times.
Emergency Drills
Students and staff will participate in emergency drills throughout the year. Students should follow their teacher's guidance during all drills and/or real emergencies.
Deliveries and Drop Offs
Lebanon Trail staff cannot accept any items dropped off for students. This Includes:
School Supplies, Technology (computer, phone, etc), Clothing Items, Extracurricular Items, Food of Any Kind, and Schoolwork
Students are not permitted to exit the building for pickups of any kind. This Includes:
No deliveries such as parent food drop off, UberEats, or DoorDash will be accepted.
We understand that these changes may be an inconvenience for some but the safety of our staff and students is our top priority, and we are very appreciative of your support and cooperation.
Picture Day
Underclassmen Photos
This will be done on September 18th, in the 120 minute block starting at the beginning of the second period and going through homeroom.
Senior Photos
This will be done on September 20th, in the library.
Homeroom SEL Education
Homeroom classes at LTHS are an opportunity to build positive relationships through Frisco ISD’s Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) skills sessions. SEL lessons offer an intentional focus on building a safe school culture through social awareness, relationship skills, and managing emotions. At the LT campus, this instructional time is valuable in providing authentic experiences in developing healthy relationships with peers and staff!
Student Tardies
We will begin counting tardies and issuing consequences on Monday, August 21. If a student arrives to campus or their designated classroom after the tardy bell has rung, they will be marked tardy.
Consequences for tradies will include:
1-3 tardies: Warning
4 tardies: 1 hour Lunch Detention
5 tardies: 2 hours TNL (Thursday Night Reflection)
6 tardies: Saturday school,
7 or More: ISS, parent conference
**Extreme tardiness could result in truancy implications & loss of academic credit.
Mega Lunch
Mega Lunch begins on Monday, August 21. Students may enjoy lunch in designated areas throughout the school, attend tutorials, read, connect with friends, and take advantage of open gym time. Students will also be assigned mandatory tutorials during this time. Additionally, students can take advantage of optional tutorials.
Buy Athletic Tickets or Stream Events Online
All tickets to athletic events hosted at FISD venues (including Ford Center and Toyota Stadium) must be purchased online. No tickets are available at the front entrances, but tickets can be purchased up through game time using the ticketing website. Visit tickets.friscoisd.org to purchase season passes and individual tickets. During the 2023-24 school year, FISD fans will be able to watch live streams and view live scores of most sporting events held at FISD athletic facilities at FriscoSportsLive.com. Learn more about the subscription and streams by clicking here.
Student Parking & Parking Permits
Student parking lots are on the south side, and northeast side of the building (outside the band hall and by the football field).
Students who commute during the day to Collin or to the CTE will be required to enter the building through the front entrance and show their ID utilizing the front door bell system. All student drivers utilizing the school parking lots are required to purchase a parking sticker for the 2023-2024 school year.
Your student may purchase a parking sticker by completing the Parking Permit Form. Please submit payment by visiting onlineschoolfees.com and submitting the required documents. Your student may then pick up the parking sticker in the Front Office with the appropriate ID. Failure to purchase a permit may result in extra fines and/or loss of parking privileges. If students park in designated staff or visitor parking places they will be stickered and required to move their car during the school day.
Parking & Traffic Flow, Bus Route Information
The front entrance will be the only point of entry during drop off. This is a change from last year. Students dropped off at the north side of the building should walk around to the front entrance. Parents: we appreciate your help in keeping students safe by following the maps. Dropping off your student in the parking lot adds to the congestion entering and exiting our lot. Keep all students safe by following the map and using the drop-off lane.
Students: Know which bus number is yours by searching your address: Click here for Bus Finder Link, and arrive at the bus pick up area promptly after school. Because buses are now required to wait for the overflow buses to arrive on campus from Independence High School, the buses will depart from campus later than usual. Please be patient with buses as they work to get all students home safely and in the most efficient manner.
Morning Arrival
We open the front doors daily by 8:20am and the athletic entrance doors by 8:35am, students will no longer be allowed to enter through the doors in the Fine Arts wing. After 9am, the front door will be the only entrance. Until 8:30 students are asked to wait in the cafeteria, and asked to be seated at the cafeteria tables as they wait. After 8:30 students may continue to wait in the cafeteria, attend tutorials with a teacher, or utilize the resources available in the library. Breakfast will be served in the cafeteria until 8:50am.
Students arriving after 9:00 will need to use the doorbell; upperclassmen will need to show their school IDs and freshman students will inform the receptionist of their ID number. Once their IDs have been verified they will be allowed to enter the building.

Video Door Monitoring
Beginning on the first day of school, August 9th all visitors to Lebanon Trail HS will use the newly installed video door monitor to request access to the building or to check a student out. The front door will be monitored by LT staff before and after school. During the day, the front door, along with every exterior door will be locked. Students must present a student ID to enter school during the day and parents will present a driver’s license at the door monitor. We appreciate your patience and grace as we work through this new process in an effort to keep our students and staff safe. Students will receive consequences for opening exterior doors to allow entry for others. This is considered a school safety violation.
Door Monitor Instructions:
Press the ring bell and wait for a response;
The ring will light up and you will hear a doorbell chime.
There may be a pause before you receive a response.
When you hear a response:
Hold your ID close to the camera

You will be asked to enter the office if your driver’s license has not been scanned.
Report your student’s absence using the Report an Absence feature on the LTHS website or by replying to the attendance email.
** Lebanon Trail HS staff cannot accept items dropped off for students.
