Staff Spotlight: Ms. Lisa Hawkins (Exceptional Learner Instructional Assistant)
While being assigned in a functional English classroom, Ms. Hawkins took a leadership and partnership role in the English classroom where she planned and led writing lessons. She went above and beyond to ensure student's needs were met. During the unprecedented times, she was asked to run a functional resource room. Ms. Hawkins, again, went above and beyond to meet student needs from creating incentive programs for completed assignments to organizational tools to keeping students on track. Not to mention, she volunteered her time to create an American Sign Language club at WCHS, with the club meeting weekly. She took her own time to plan meaningful lessons to help more students in the building learn another language that would in turn create a more inclusive environment. Ms. Hawkins cares deeply for her students and dedicates her time and energy to their success.

MSD of Warren Township will continue to offer a virtual learning option for the 2021-2022 school year. Enrollment in the 2021-2022 K-8 Virtual / 9-12 Online Learning Program is limited to a select number of students, and an application is required. File Your FAFSA by May 15th
The Indiana Commission for Higher Education has extended the filing deadline for the 2021-2022 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) beyond the state’s original April 15 deadline. Students who did not file the FAFSA before the April 15 deadline should submit the form at FAFSA.gov as soon as possible.
Filing the FAFSA is one of the most important steps in the college-going process and can help students and families better afford college and other higher education opportunities. Students must have a current FAFSA on file to qualify for state and federal financial aid and many merit-based scholarships also require a completed FAFSA.
Graduation Commencement Information
Graduation will be in the WCHS Performing Arts Center. Each graduate may bring up to eight guests and all graduation requirements must be completed in order to participate.

Moorhead Community Resource Center
If you or someone you know in Warren Township needs assistance, please visit our Moorhead Community Resource Center. Many services are offered at this wonderful facility.
FOOD DISTRIBUTION INFORMATION
- 100% VIRTUAL families can pick up food on Tuesday from 8:00-9:30 a.m. or 4:00- 6:00 p.m. at Moorhead Community Resource Center located at 8400 East 10th Street.
- All hybrid in-person students will have the opportunity to pick up meals while in-person to take home for the following school day. Please encourage your child to take advantage of this opportunity!
Vaccinations - Ages 16 and Older
All Indiana residents 16 and above are now eligible for the COVID vaccine.
- Families making appointments for teens who are 16 or 17 years old will need to make sure they are selecting a location offering the Pfizer vaccine.
- Anyone younger than 18 who wants to get vaccinated will need permission from a parent or guardian.
WCHS Mask Mandate Update
Beginning Tuesday, April 6, the mask mandate becomes a mask advisory with a few exceptions. One of those exceptions is the school setting. MSD Warren Township buildings will maintain our mask requirement for students and staff as well as our social distancing and handwashing expectations for the remainder of the school year.
