AJJH will cultivate a thriving learning community where every student is engaged, challenged, and empowered to become a confident, resilient, and lifelong learner.
Our mission is to empower every student to achieve academic, social, and personal success through engaging learning experiences, high expectations, strong relationships, and a culture of continuous improvement.
EXCEEDING EXPECTATIONS
To exceed expectations means to deliver results, performance, or behavior that significantly surpasses what was anticipated, requested, or required.
Dear AJJH Parents and Guardians,
At Alice Johnson Junior High, we remain committed to Exceeding Expectations by providing meaningful learning experiences, maintaining high expectations, and supporting every student's academic growth.
Grading Cycle 2 provides an opportunity for every student to set new goals, strengthen academic habits, and build on the progress made during the first grading cycle. We encourage families to have conversations with their children about their academic performance and identify at least one goal for improvement.
Here are a few ways you can help your child have a successful grading cycle:
Monitor Grades: Check Skyward regularly to review your child's grades, assignments, and academic progress. Encourage your child to complete and submit all assignments on time.
Attendance Matters: Our campus attendance goal is 96%. Our daily attendance rates have improved. Please ensure your child attends school every day and arrives on time. Every instructional minute counts!
Take Advantage of Tutorials: Encourage your child to attend after-school tutorials Monday through Thursday when additional academic support is needed.
Stay Engaged: Communicate regularly with your child's teachers and discuss academic goals, classroom expectations, and opportunities for improvement.
Encourage Responsibility: Remind your child to wear their student ID badge daily, follow campus expectations, keep electronic devices stored, and make positive choices.
We are excited to offer an interactive, hands-on workshop designed to equip parents with practical tools, resources, and strategies to support their child’s learning at home. Please take a moment to complete our Parent Interest Survey to let us know which topics you would like to learn more about. Your feedback will help us plan meaningful sessions that best meet the needs of our families.
Thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to your child's education. Together, we can ensure that every Hornet has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed!
Your Proud Principal,
Priscilla Jones-Revis
Alice Johnson Junior High

PBIS Rewards?
PBIS Rewards is a schoolwide system we use at Alice Johnson Junior High to encourage and recognize positive student behavior.
PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. Instead of focusing only on consequences, PBIS Rewards helps us intentionally teach, model, and celebrate the behaviors we want to see in our students every day.
How It Works
Students earn PBIS points when they demonstrate positive behaviors such as being respectful, responsible, prepared, and engaged in learning.
Points are earned during the school day from staff members who recognize students for making good choices.
Students can redeem points for incentives, rewards, and special opportunities through our campus PBIS program.
