Mr Lisseman - Headteacher

Dear Parents & Carers,

As we come to the end of the Autumn term and begin the Christmas holidays, I want to take a moment to reflect on what has been a truly joyful and inspiring half term for our school community.

Our end-of-term assembly captured so much of what makes this school special. Hearing about the skills, talents and achievements of students across every year group was a powerful reminder of the extraordinary potential within our community. From academic success to creativity, from sporting achievements to personal growth, what stood out most was not just talent, but effort, perseverance and aspiration.

We saw students who have overcome obstacles, challenged themselves, and grown in confidence and maturity. It was a celebration of progress in all its forms, and it reminded us that success looks different for every child — but improvement is something we all share.

The atmosphere of the assembly was lifted even further by the wonderful contribution of our Music Department. The performances were inspiring and celebratory, and they showcased not only musical skill, but confidence, teamwork and joy. My sincere thanks to the staff and students involved for creating such a positive and uplifting moment for our whole school.

This term also marked an important milestone with our recent Ofsted inspection. While we are not yet able to share final outcomes, we were able to speak openly with students about the process and the success we have had. The inspection reflected a school that is moving forward strongly — a community where expectations are high, relationships are positive, and everyone is committed to getting better every day. This is the result of collective effort: students, staff, families and governors working together with shared purpose.

What has been most encouraging is the sense that improvement at our school is not about individuals, but about everyone. Every student. Every member of staff. Our whole community, growing stronger day by day.

As we now look ahead to the Christmas break, I want to thank you all for the energy, dedication and support you bring to our school. I hope the holidays provide time to rest, to recuperate, and to spend precious moments with family and friends.

On behalf of everyone at the school, I wish you a very happy, peaceful and restorative Christmas, and every good wish for a healthy and hopeful 2026.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the new year, refreshed and ready for the next chapter of our journey together.

Student Bulletin Student Bulletin

This is a round up of all the important information, notices and reminders that they need to know. The bulletin is also posted on the screens around school so they can refer back to it at any time.

It was a lovely opportunity for FoTS helpers to support the school on Monday evening with the Christmas Carols. Thanks to Catherine, Gosia, Inma, Liz and Steph who all came to help with the event. It was a really enjoyable evening and a reminder of how lucky we all are to be part of the Twickenham School community.

Wishing you all a restful holiday and looking forward to our quiz and more rugby parking in the New Year (that was almost a FoTS update which didn't mention rugby parking!)

Lights and Shine Competition

Our recent Lights and Shine Competition brought a wonderful burst of festive cheer across the school, with students decorating their classrooms in creative and imaginative ways. The results were incredible, with classrooms transformed into bright, welcoming spaces full of Christmas spirit.

A huge well done to all the students who took part and put so much effort into their designs. The standard was extremely high, making judging a real challenge.

Congratulations to our winners:

  • 1st Place: Miss Sheldrick’s class – 11Y

  • Joint 2nd Place: Miss Karakaya’s class – 7P and Miss Farrell & Miss Pailllot’s class – 9E

Thank you to everyone involved for helping to create such a festive atmosphere around the school!
