We are pleased to share that both students and staff did an excellent job following the procedures and responding swiftly and calmly during the drill. Their cooperation and focus were truly commendable.
We remain committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all our students. Thank you for your continued support.

Anti-Bullying Assembly
Our students did a great job at the anti-bullying assembly provided by MARC (Massachusetts Aggression Reduction Center) from BSU. The difference between conflict and bullying was addressed through scenarios. We talked about how to cope with different types of conflict, and how to be a good friend and classmate. The importance of talking to adults about bullying and cyberbullying was emphasized. The presentation also encouraged students to support their peers and introduced different ways for them to provide that support.
More information about the program and services can be found at www.marccenter.org.
Happy 100th Day of School!
100th Day Grade Level Challenge!
The 100th Day started with a grade level challenge...which grade could find 100 Mrs. Goulets first?? Grade 1 came up victorious!!!
Penguin Huddle
Grade 1 kicked off their "Animals in Winter" unit this week with a fun and engaging exploration of how animals stay warm during the cold months. They’ve been learning about the different ways humans stay cozy, like bundling up in layers, snuggling in blankets, and heading inside to escape the chill. The class has also been comparing these methods to the winter adaptations of animals. One of the highlights was reading about and watching videos of penguin huddles in Antarctica, where penguins gather closely together to keep warm. Inspired by what they learned, the class decided to give it a try themselves and huddled up to experience firsthand how animals like penguins stay warm in the winter!
We Had A Whale Of A Time!
Delilah swam by the Rose L. today to visit with our first graders. Delilah is a life-sized inflatable North Atlantic Right Whale. Her measurements are based off of a real whale! They got to go inside the whale to learn all about its body and what it eats. They also looked at, and touched, real whale vertebrae and baleen (whale teeth). It was definitely a whale of a time! A big thank you to the Whale and Dolphin Conservation of Plymouth as well as the WBPTO for an amazing presentation!
Grade 2 Read For 2025 Pizza Party
On January 17th, all Grade 2 students participated in the “Read for 2025” Reading and Pizza Party. Students wore their pajamas to school to ensure maximum comfort and were challenged to read for 2025 seconds. They enjoyed a delicious pizza party lunch to celebrate. Congratulations to all second graders for their accomplishment! Many thanks to the RLM Cafeteria Staff, and Ann Marie Grinder for providing pizza, fresh veggies, drinks, and ice cream treats for all students! A big thank you to the PTO for providing rewards of bookmarks, ribbons, bracelets and stickers for the event.

Raising MultiCultural Kids
RLM students have been excited and looking forward to their visits from RMK Diversity Leaders! The literature shared so far has been:
- Sit-In: How Four Friends Stood Up by Sitting Down by Andrea Davis Pinkney
- Dancing Hands: A Story of Friendship in Filipino Sign Language by Joanna Que and Charina Marquez
- José Feeds the World: How a Famous Chef Feeds Millions of People in Need Around the World by David Unger

Diversity Leaders are focusing on :
- Encouraging students to be curious about themselves and others builds self-confidence and empathy.
- Exposing students to different family structures, cultures, skin colors, abilities and language widens a student's worldview and builds perspective-taking skills.
- Providing children with appropriate language to describe differences and harmful treatment gives children the skills to address issues and create productive dialogue about change
- Helping students understand our country's history and how it impacts people today develops critical thinking skills to identify and deconstruct systems of harm.
- Representation matters
