GLOBE Welcomes Students from KSU
This past week, we welcomed students from Kennesaw State University (KSU) to The GLOBE Academy as they completed observation hours and gained firsthand experience in a Dual Language Immersion (DLI) school setting.
We are proud to be a school of choice for aspiring educators, and we are grateful for our partnership with KSU. Opportunities like these allow future teachers to observe, learn, and experience the impact of multilingual education in action, while building connections with experienced educators.
We look forward to continuing this partnership and supporting the next generation of teachers!

Día de los Muertos Altar
This year, students from all language programs came together to celebrate and learn about this beautiful cultural tradition. Every class from Kindergarten through 5th grade, across all language tracks, participated by bringing a photo of a beloved family member or pet who is no longer with us.
Through this meaningful activity, our students had the opportunity to learn about and appreciate an important Hispanic tradition, while reflecting on the significance of remembering and honoring the loved ones who have touched our lives.
October's FunTober Fest
It was wonderful to see so many families come out and enjoy an evening of outdoor games, contests, music, crafts, and candy trunks, on what was a beautiful fall evening. Thank you to GLOBE's PTCC for organizing this great event!

Lower Campus Clinic
Flu season is here. Please monitor your child, and review the sick policies in the parent handbook. Please also make sure that your contact information is up to date.
Send an email to Nurse Kate if your child tests positive for Lice, Flu, Covid, or Strep. Infections are tracked to ensure that the school stops the spread of them quickly and effectively.

High School Information Night
An information session for current 8th grade families will be held on November 9, at 6:30pm, in the UC Cafeteria. Details regarding the rising 9th grade transition, and academic requirements, will be shared. All 8th grade parents are encouraged to attend.
Global Seal of Biliteracy Opportunity for 8th graders
Does your 8th grade student speak a language at home in addition to their GLOBE language?
Eighth grade students may have the opportunity to take an additional Avant STAMP proficiency assessment in an eligible language and potentially earn the Global Seal of Biliteracy, an international credential recognizing proficiency in English and another language. Eighth grade students who qualify for the seal will also be recognized at our GLOBE graduation ceremony.
If your student has intermediate-mid to advanced proficiency in another language and is interested in participating, please send an mail to Ms. Daniel, Director of Language Program, by November 6, 2026, with the name of the language they would like to test in and preferred date.
The assessment requires students to understand and communicate effectively across a range of contexts, including academic and formal settings. Students should review the sample test and proficiency examples with their families to determine whether the assessment is a good fit for their current language proficiency.
Testing will take place at Upper Campus on January 14 or February 9, 2027, from 10:00am to 12:30pm. Students will attend their regular classes before and after testing. Click here for information.
Band/Orchestra/Chorus News
Five GLOBE students auditioned for the ACDA National Treble Honor Choir, and three were accepted! Nationally, ACDA received over 5,000 applications across the United States of America for all of its honor choirs last cycle, and each choir accepts only about 300 singers.
Please join us in congratulating our three National Honor Choir singers: Tomas Camarillo, Ella Josephson, and Zoe Seals!
