Today as I made rounds through classrooms and morning recess, several students wished me a "Happy Harvest Fest." At Cornwall School, we talk a lot about how our families have all different traditions and values. We don't celebrate "holidays" here, but we do deeply value our common Cornwall School traditions. When we gathered for All School Meeting at the start of Harvest Fest to sing our Cornwall School song, I reminded students that this is the most special day of the year at our school, but I hardly needed to remind them. They feel it; we all do.

Joyfully,

Nadya

Cybersecurity update from ACSD Technology

ACSD has changed how district Google accounts share documents to better protect student and family information.

What this means for families:

  • Documents ACSD staff send you will usually come as an email attachment, such as a PDF, instead of a Google Docs link.

  • When you send something to ACSD staff, please attach the file to your email. Google Docs or Drive links shared from personal accounts may not open for staff.

  • If you can't open something from ACSD, let the staff member know and they'll send it another way.

Please also be careful with unexpected emails saying a document has been shared with you, especially if they ask you to sign in or verify your identity. This applies even when the email appears to come from someone you know. If you're unsure, check with the sender by phone or in a separate email.

A New Chapter for Our SEPAC, and an Invitation to Help Write It

The Addison Central Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) is at an exciting crossroads. We're stepping back to ask big questions: What should a parent advisory council look like for today's families? How can we best support one another, partner with the district, and make sure every student with an IEP or 504 plan has what they need to thrive?

We don't want to answer those questions alone. We want to answer them with you.

Join us for a community conversation where families will help set SEPAC's direction, priorities, and way of working.

The SEPAC is also welcoming new leaders! Whether you're drawn to organizing events, connecting families, sharing information, or speaking up on important issues, there's a role that fits your strengths and schedule. Leadership can be shared, flexible, and as big or small as you make it.

When: Wednesday, 10/14, 5:30-7pm
Where: MUHS library & Google Meet (meet.google.com/gjk-ymhg-drj)

802 Smiles Returns to Schools!

802 Smiles Dental Hygiene Program is returning this Fall in October and November to offer free dental screenings and preventative care to all ACSD students. Please complete the forms by October 22, if you would like your child to participate. You can access the forms here, or there are paper copies available at your school.
