As part of the state mandated testing program, your child will be given an End-of-Grade (EOG) Reading and Math in Grades 3-8 and Science in Grades 5 and 8. The dates are listed below:
Your child will be given an End-of-Grade Test on May 12 and May 14 for Reading and Math.
Your child will be given an End-of-Grade Test in Science in Grade 5 on May 13.
Make ups will follow May 15 and 16.
It is important that you remind your child of the following cell phone/electronic device policy change as required by the State testing policy:
Other than permitted calculators, students are not allowed to have in their possession or to use cell phones or any other electronic devices at any time during testing, including breaks. Any student with a cell phone/electronic device during testing time must be dismissed from testing and a misadministration declared. The student possessing the device will be removed from testing and will have to retest on a different day. It is also possible that the entire class will be required to retest if a violation occurs.
It is imperative that your child prepares diligently for the test(s), and is at school on time during exam days. You can further enhance his/her opportunity for success by ensuring that your child has ample sleep that night before and a nutritious breakfast the morning of the test.
Our students and staff have worked hard during this semester and we are confident testing will go well. We appreciate your support.
Attention 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade Parents~Change to Retesting.

Dear Parent or Guardian,
We are pleased to inform you of a new opportunity available to students for the 2024-25 school year. Students who score “Not Proficient” on their End-of-Grade (EOG)/End-of-Course (EOC) assessments will be given a second chance to retake these assessments between May 12th and May 23rd.
This option is intended to support student success and offer your child another opportunity to demonstrate mastery of the content. Eligible exams include:
4th-8th Grade Reading (eligible 3rd grade students will be required to take the Read to Achieve assessment)
3rd-8th Grade Math
We encourage all eligible students to take advantage of this opportunity to improve their EOG performance. Please indicate your consent below to allow your child to participate in the EOG readministration opportunity. Readministration will take place on:
[5/20/25] - Reading for 4th-8th grade
[5/21/25] - Math for 3rd-8th grade
If you have any questions or need further information, please contact your child’s school testing coordinator or administrator.
Thank you for your continued support of your child’s academic success.
Sincerely,
Gloria Perez, Assistant Principal, JR Ingram
Attention 2nd Grade Parents
Dear Parent/Guardian,
The Read to Achieve (RTA) Law passed by the General Assembly in July of 2012 requires third-grade students to demonstrate reading proficiency by the end of their 3rd-grade year. In order to work toward meeting this requirement, 2nd-grade students who score below grade level on the EOY (End of Year) MClass reading assessment are invited to attend RTA camp.
You will be notified by your child's teacher if your child meets the criteria to attend camp. The program is optional but highly recommended and will give them additional opportunities to make growth in Reading. The dates are June 9th- June 26th from 8:00 am-2:30 pm. Transportation and meals are included if needed. Please complete the form below and return to your child’s teacher as soon as possible.
Location: Students from B,T. Bullock, Deep River, J.R. Ingram, & W.B. Wicker will attend camp at W.B. Wicker
By signing your child up for camp, you are automatically enrolled in camp so mark your calendars. Please note that this occupies a spot that could be available for another participant, therefore, it is important to ensure consistent attendance. If there are any additional questions about your child attending, someone from the school will be in touch. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s teacher.
