The Dawg Dispatch

In Coach Kareem's Learning Strategies class, students are diving into reading using the Jigsaw method! Each group identifies the main ideas in their section of text, then comes together to share their insights with the class. The result? Engaging discussions, sharp critical thinking, and collaboration at its best, a true showcase of Bulldawg Pride in the classroom!

If these math terms make your head spin, don’t worry, our 7th graders have you covered!

In Mr. Cole’s math class, students reviewed these skills (and more!), with a couple of them even stepping up to teach the class themselves.

Students are finding their rhythm in Mr. Turner’s music class! Under the guidance of our assistant band director, they’re learning to play percussion instruments and keeping the beat with confidence. The rhythm of learning is alive and strong at Belle-Shivers Middle School!

Students in Mrs. Shaw’s 6th-grade math class explored ratios through an engaging, hands-on activity. By seeing it, touching it, and experiencing it, they brought math to life, proving that learning sticks best when it’s active and fun!

Every Wednesday, we encourage students and staff to wear college shirts! Why? Because seeing those college names and logos reminds our students that higher education is possible for them, whether it’s a school close to home or one across the country. It’s a simple way to spark conversations, plant dreams, and keep students motivated toward their future goals. Let’s show them that the road to college starts right here in Bulldawg Country!

At Aberdeen High School, our seniors walk past a wall filled with graduation cords, each one representing hard work, dedication, and achievement. Above it reads the inspiring challenge: “How heavy will your neck be?”

For our seniors, it’s a daily reminder that every effort counts toward that moment on stage. For our youngest students, even in Pre-K, it’s never too early to start building those habits. Parents, encourage your children to dream big and aim high from the start. The journey from ABCs to cap and gown begins now, and the choices students make each year will help them cruise through to that proud day in Bulldawg Country.

Bulldawg Country welcomed Kealy Shields, news anchor at WCBI, for her first meeting as a committee member on the Aberdeen High School Academy Advisory Board.

The board discussed exciting topics, including current programs, new opportunities for students, industry collaborations, field trips, guest speakers, and ways to inspire younger students. Kealy shared her enthusiasm for how this partnership will strengthen relationships and provide meaningful connections with our students.

Aberdeen Elementary School is headed to Mask Family Farms for an exciting day of hay rides, petting zoo fun, train rides, pumpkins, and more!

To join in on the fun, students must:

Have 88 points or more

Have no bus or office referrals

Let’s work hard, show great behavior, and earn those points each day! Every positive choice gets you closer to this awesome adventure!

Our students now have 24/7 access to Paper Tutoring, a free, unlimited online tutoring platform provided through our district. Paper connects students with qualified, trained tutors who offer one-on-one live help in any subject, anytime, anywhere. Students can also upload writing assignments (like essays or lab reports) and receive detailed feedback from tutors.

How Parents & Students Can Access It:

1. Visit the district’s Parent and Community Dashboard page and click the Paper Tutoring link.

2. Sign in using your student’s district credentials (Students can obtain login info from teacher using Clever).

3. Choose your subject, click Live Help, and you're connected within seconds.

4. For writing feedback, look for the Upload an Essay option.

This resource is always available and always free, with no appointments needed. Encourage your student to take advantage of it, whether they need homework help, extra practice, or writing support.
