Welcome to Poltopia

Welcome to Poltopia
Welcome toPoltopia

Dear Polton Community, Dear Polton Community,

I cannot believe it is already November! As we enter this season of gratitude, we have so much to be thankful for at Polton, especially our wonderful students, families, staff, and community.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

We look forward to seeing many of you next week for Parent/Teacher Conferences! Our students and teachers have been working incredibly hard, and we appreciate you taking the time to come in, celebrate your child’s progress, and partner with us in their continued growth. If you have not yet scheduled your conference, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

Scholastic Book Fair

Our Scholastic Book Fair will also be taking place in the CLC throughout next week and open after school during conferences. Be sure to stop by during your visit and check out the great selection of books! Please see schedule below.

Veterans Day Celebration

Our Veterans Day Celebration will be November 11th from 8:40–9:45 a.m. We will begin with an assembly in the gym, followed by breakfast treats for our Veterans and their families.

Our second-grade students will be creating poppies to honor the sacrifices made by our Veterans while protecting our freedoms. These poppies will line our school yard for the community to enjoy. Our first-grade students will also be learning about the American flag and displaying mini flags along our Hug and Go lane.

If you are a Veteran, know a special Veteran you would like to invite, or simply want to attend and help us honor our Veterans, please RSVP using the provided link by November 9th. Guests should meet at the main entrance, Door 1, by 8:30 a.m.

Veterans Day Celebration

Lockdown Drill

On November 2nd, we will conduct a lockdown drill. We understand that safety drills can bring up many feelings for students and families, particularly given recent events in the news.

We are committed to approaching these drills thoughtfully and supporting our students throughout the process. Please review the included district letter for additional information regarding our lockdown drill procedures.

PTCO Meeting

Our next PTCO meeting will be Wednesday, November 12, from 6:00–7:00 p.m. The meeting will be hybrid, so families can participate either in person or via Zoom. The Zoom link will be shared closer to the meeting.

Our PTCO does so much to support Polton, and we would love to see even more members of our community get involved!

❤️ So Much to Be Thankful For❤️

In the spirit of November, we want you to know how thankful we are for all of you and your incredible students.

Thank you for your generous candy donations for Trunk or Treat and for making this year’s Den Dash such an incredible success. Together, our community raised an amazing $25,960 from Den Dash!

We are incredibly grateful for the generosity, enthusiasm, and partnership that makes Polton such a special place.

Sincerely,

Ms. Kristin Kasselder

Fall Health Announcements Fall Health Announcements

Cold and Flu Season

Colder weather means illness is starting to spread. Make sure your students are doing everything they can to keep themselves and their community healthy!

  • Wash your hands!
  • Cover your mouth and nose with your elbow when you cough or sneeze
  • Use a tissue to wipe your nose
  • If you feel sick, please stay home!

Flu season ahead. Help prevent the spread. Keep children home when sick (cough, vomiting, frequent sneezing, diarrhea, fever, etc.). Continue good hand washing habits. Reach out to your healthcare providers for health/illness concerns. Sneeze/cough into elbow instead of hands. Stay up to date on immunizations, especially flu and Covid-19.
