Millard Families, we were so excited to open our doors this morning. Our teachers and staff brought balloons, music and more, but your students are the ones who bring the energy. The first day is like a homecoming for us.
Words you will hear often this year are 'priority outcomes.' It is part of our strategic plan, and it is work that has many layers, but what it means for you is that we are a district of educational excellence and we want that excellence for your children. Your children are why we are here, and their success is our priority.
I am excited for what's to come this year. New educational programs and opportunities are being developed through our strategic plan. I look forward to updating you on the progress of these in the coming months. There is also the opportunity and engagement that comes with the array of extracurricular programs we offer. Many are already underway this fall. I encourage you to talk with your children about getting involved. From sports to the arts, drama, robotics, book clubs, investing clubs, and more, Millard is large enough to offer something for everyone, and small enough to know your children and help them find their best fit.
