Fairmount Park Elementary Vision
to connect every child to themselves, others, and possibilities
Message from the Principal
Hello Fairmount Park Families,
There's always a lot happening at Fairmount Park! Students learn and share learning through multiple modes of expression. 5th graders experienced hands-on learning, all students are learning through observation of our salmon babies, and we learn from each other at our weekly assembly.
As a community we aim to value each other's gifts and the myriad ways we share them.

Message from SPS
Our immigrant students and families are valued and beloved members of our SPS community. We are committed to ensuring our schools are places of safety and belonging for every student. We understand that in the current landscape, fears and concerns about immigration enforcement in our city are heightened.
Families and community members can find additional resources for supports on our website. These include links to know your rights materials, the Cityβs rapid response program, legal resources, and family preparedness planning.
Emergency resources can also be found by calling 844-724-3737 to report immigration enforcement activity or get connected to emergency resources.
We are continuing to work on additional systems and supports for our schools and families.
Message from our School Nurse Lucie
An unfortunate part of the childhood experience is getting sick. Nurse Lucie reminds us that kids can still come to school as long as they adhere to specific guidelines. See the SPS graphic below for guidance on when to send your child to school.
School Counselor Appreciation Week
This week, we celebrate our amazing school counselor, Ms. Soto, and the vital role she plays in supporting studentsβ academic success, social-emotional growth, and overall well-being. Ms. Soto helps students navigate friendships, feelings, and challenges while building skills that last a lifetime. We are so grateful for her care, expertise, and dedication to our school community.
Learning
5th Grade Outdoor School
Ms. Wilkie and Ms. Ravenscroft took their 5th graders to Islandwood for outdoor school last week. Students experience hands on learning about the ecology of the Northwest. They also have opportunities to grow their collaboration skills in an outdoor setting. These experiences create bonding opportunities as a cohort, and also develop core memories for students.
Science
Ms. Ravenscroft's class performed a lab investigating liquids and how it is changed by additives. (salt, sugar, citric acid, etc...) They observed the changes both visually and through taste.
Community Connections
PTA Glow Party
Our Fairmount Park PTA hosted our annual Glow Party on Friday. DJ Baby van Beezly volunteered their services to create an exciting and fun dance party atmosphere where students and families danced and participated in other 'glowy' activities, including glow-in-the-dark face painting!
Salmon in Schools
Students across Fairmount Park are enjoying watching the salmon grow!
