From the Desk of Dr. Rikki Hunt Taylor
Dear Meridian PCS Parents and Families,
As we close out the month of April and look ahead to May, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible momentum across our school community. This is peak season for enrollment, and it has been energizing to welcome both new and returning families who are choosing Meridian for the 2026-2027 school year. Your continued trust in our mission and vision is what makes our community thrive.
I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Owl Fest Enrollment Day – it was a true success! From re-enrolling to dancing, playing, and creating together, the energy and joy across our school were unmatched.
As we move into the final stretch of the academic year, our students will soon begin DC CAPE testing. We are confident in their preparation and encourage families to continue supporting strong routines at home to help students do their very best. We also look forward to upcoming family engagement opportunities along the way.
I would also like to take a moment to recognize our outstanding teachers and staff as we approach Staff Appreciation Week. Their dedication, passion, and commitment to our students do not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for the heart they bring to Meridian each day.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we will finish this school year strong with amazing opportunities ahead.
With Literacy and Justice for All,
Dr. Rikki Hunt-Taylor
Executive Director
