Certified #PurpleReign Award: Stephanie Damron
This month, we are proud to recognize our January Certified Purple Reign Award winner, Stephanie Damron, 5th Grade Teacher at Piper Creek Elementary.
Stephanie was nominated by a parent who shared, “Mrs. Damron incorporates so many amazing experiences into her everyday teaching. She teaches each of her students, one by one, to knit scarves as part of a community service project for the homeless. She also had her students learn to bake pumpkin treats before Thanksgiving, memorize poems, and deliver the treats to their former teachers while reciting their poems — all in an effort to spread joy.”
The nominator continued, “She is demonstrating kindness and community service to our kids, along with all of the academics, and making learning fun. My fifth grader is so excited to go to school each day, and it’s a direct reflection of everything Mrs. Damron is doing in her classroom.”
We are grateful for Stephanie’s creativity, compassion, and commitment to connecting academics with real-world impact. Congratulations, Mrs. Damron. Pictured with Mrs. Damron is her principal Mrs. Jane Martin.
Classified #PurpleReign Award: Mark Golubski
Our January Classified Purple Reign Award goes to Mark Golubski, Information Technology Technician for Piper USD 203.
Since joining the district, Mark has already made a meaningful impact by supporting staff and students with their technology needs.
His nominator and colleague shared, “Mark has helped me tremendously with my iPads. He asks what my students and I need, and I can tell he truly cares about our building. He is a great addition to the Technology Department.”
We are grateful for Mark’s dedication, responsiveness, and commitment to serving our schools. Congratulations, Mark. Pictured with Mark is his supervisor James Grogan, Director of Technology.
Board of Education Recognition Month
As the district welcomes the start of a new year, it does so with great appreciation and respect for the dedicated volunteerism of its Board of Education members. January is recognized as Annual School Board Recognition Month, a time to collectively acknowledge and celebrate the Board’s tireless efforts in shaping the future of the district’s education system.
The commitment to serve on the Board of Education reflects an unwavering dedication to the community and its youth. The decisions made by Board members, often behind the scenes and beyond public recognition, have a profound impact on the lives of students, educators, and families. Their work extends beyond policymaking; it plays a critical role in building a brighter future for every child who walks through the doors of the district’s schools.
In closing, the district extends its sincere appreciation for the Board’s service and volunteerism. This annual recognition serves as a reminder of the meaningful and lasting impact Board members make on the community and on the lives of its young learners.
