Tynes Tiger Families,

Happy Saturday!

We are on the cusp of spring break, with just one week left in the marking period. Please encourage your Tynes Tigers to finish this quarter strong, both academically and behaviorally. We've seen an uptick in off task behaviors this week across grades and locations, so thanks in advance for taking the time to review expectations with your children. We appreciate your partnership!

If you need help or have additional questions, you may contact our front office at (904)336-3850 Monday - Friday from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Thanks again for your ongoing support!

Is Your 5th or 6th Grader OLJH Bound?

For those families whose students will be attending OLJH, there are a number of things happening behind the scenes to prepare for this transition. On Tuesday, March 11th our 5th and 6th grade students are invited on a visit to OLJH. Bus transportation will be provided, at no cost to families. Members of our Tynes staff will accompany the students. Finally, we will host a special completion ceremony for our 5th graders attending OLJH on Thursday, May 29th, at 9 am. Mrs. Dixon, the OLJH Principal, will also be in attendance. More details to follow.

Counselors Corner Counselors Corner

Happy Spring to our Tiger families! The mindset for the month of March is Live to Give. This mindset focuses on service to others through everyday tasks as well as long-term goals. Please find below the link for the parent newsletter for this mindset and ways we can encourage our kids to help others. In classroom guidance, 6th grade lessons will continue to focus on healthy communication and our Kindergarten - 5th grade lessons will focus on the safety topic of avoiding exploitation through the BASE curriculum.

Volunteer Information Volunteer Information

The Raptor upgrade is functional and the volunteer registration is live. The district website has been updated with the new application link. https://ccds.myoneclay.net/volunteer. If you or any family member, including junior high or high school students, wish to volunteer in a Clay County School, completing this Google Form is the first step.

Our Volunteer Coordinator, Mrs. Ashley Pippin-Jones, is happy to help get you connected with volunteer opportunities. If you want to volunteer and did not fill out a volunteer interest form that was sent out but are still interested contact Ashley @ Tynestigerparents@gmail.com along with completing the Raptor application via the link above.

More information can be found at the district's Family and Community Engagement Page. This includes information about how to get a Level 2 Clearance, which is required to chaperone some field trips where you may be responsible for a small group of students away from our Tynes staff.

If you have been on campus lately, you have probably noticed this new kiosk in the front office. This is where you can sign yourself in as a volunteer or visitor once you've been through the Raptor system for the first time. If it's your very first visit to campus this year, you will still need to have someone at the front desk scan your ID. After that, you can use the kiosk to log in and print your badge. This system also tracks your volunteer hours!
