Wake Up Inspired and Go Home Fullfilled
ARK Core Values
Respect
This month, we are excited to highlight Respect as our core value. You may have noticed our core value banners throughout the building and heard your children talk about them at home. These values help us grow as individuals and strengthen our community.
Throughout October, respect will be woven into classroom conversations, morning meetings, and guidance lessons. Each week, students will also hear a “Quote of the Week” during morning announcements to spark reflection and discussion about what respect looks like, sounds like, and feels like.
We encourage you to talk with your child at home about respect and how it can be practiced daily. Together, we can help our students grow into thoughtful, caring individuals.
Family Values Talks
Consider building “Values Talks” into your weekly family routine—or even once a month. These conversations can take place during a car ride, at the dinner table, or while taking a walk together.
Here are some guiding questions you might try:
-
What does respect mean to you? What does it look like, sound like, and feel like?
-
How do you show respect to your teachers, friends, and family?
-
Are there any areas where you find it challenging to be respectful?
-
How do you show respect for yourself?
-
(This one takes courage!) Do you think I treat you respectfully? How about the way I treat others in our family, like Mom, Dad, or Grandma?
The goal isn’t to have “perfect answers,” but to spark reflection and model that respect is something we all continue to practice and grow in.

Safety Reminder at Dismissal
The safety of our students and families is always our top priority. A community member recently shared some important concerns about dismissal. To help keep everyone safe, please remember:
Do not park on crosswalks.
Do not park in no-parking zones (yellow curbs indicate no parking).
Do not park too close to intersections, as it reduces visibility.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping dismissal safe for all.
