February is National Dental Health Month. Drs. Jeremy and Jaime Hill from Hill Dentistry volunteered to visit our school February 3 to perform dental screenings for all grades. This is a free, voluntary service; they will take a quick look in your student's mouth - no treatments will be performed. Forms regarding the dental screening went home January 27. If you want your child to receive a free dental screening you need to opt-in for the screening and return the form to Sunset School. If you have any questions please call me at 307-587-4279..

Town! Town!

TOWN is coming up February 28!

5th grade students must have all work completed and turned in to the teacher by a week before the date of Town, this trimester it is February 20. Students are given notice of missing work well in advance, so it should not be a surprise if they have missing work. Students need to have completed two book reports (fiction and nonfiction), a book presentation which is on one of the completed book reports, and a balance of $2000 or more in their checking account. Students will be excused from Town if they have forgotten their Town supplies.

4th grade students must have read two books, past two quizzes on Whooo's Reading, and have

$1,250 in Town money by February 26.

We want the focus on this Town to remain on the students/entrepreneurs and the hard work they put into their business with their partner. Parents can drop off supplies for their child’s TOWN business on the morning of TOWN. Parents will be invited along with other classes from Sunset to the final TOWN in May (third trimester) from 12:30-1:00.

Thank you!

Free swimming lessons are being offered by the Rec Center to 3rd graders, the upcoming sessions are, February 3 through February 13, excluding February 11; March 3 through March 13; and April 7 through April 17; Mondays through Thursdays, unless otherwise noted. Class sizes are limited to 8 students per class. Due to class sizes and to maximize the time allowed for teaching swim classes, there are two different time slots; 3:45 to 4:15 p.m. and 4:15-4:45 p.m. Once all lessons are complete all children still in the pool will be directed to the locker rooms to change.

A bus will transport students from Sunset School to the Rec Center, parents will pick up their student after the lesson. Parents must pick their student up at the Rec Center NO LATER than 5:00 p.m.
