A2 Virtual+ March Update
March 4th, 2025
Principal Message
Good Afternoon,
I want to take a moment to recognize the dedication of our students and families—98.7% of students have been counted for participation in their online classes! This is a fantastic achievement and reflects the strong commitment to learning in our asynchronous environment. For students who have not yet completed an activity in their online class, there is still time—they have until the end of the day to be counted. I have contacted students who still need to meet this requirement. We also continue to encourage engagement through our Weekly Wednesday Attendance activities, which can be found in Schoology and are recorded as attendance in PowerSchool.
As technology evolves, we also want to support families in guiding their students’ use of AI tools. AI can be a valuable resource for research, brainstorming, and study support, but it must be used responsibly to ensure that students’ work remains authentic and truly reflects their learning. We encourage open conversations at home about ethical AI use, and our team is here to provide guidance as needed. As we continue discussions on how to best utilize this new tool to enhance learning, we want to be clear: students should not copy and paste from outside sources, including AI, to produce complete answers or essays. If a student’s use of AI raises concerns about academic integrity, they will be required to meet with their teacher to discuss it.
Thank you for your ongoing support in helping students navigate both online learning and the responsible use of technology.
Warm Regards,
Principal Lauer

Monitoring Student Progress in Online Classes
March is a key time to reflect on how students are doing in their online classes. By now, most students have established routines—some that are working well and others that may need adjustment based on their progress.
PowerSchool is the best tool for tracking a student’s progress. Teachers update grades weekly, with the exception of Michigan Virtual courses, which follow their own progress check schedule. Parents and guardians can find information on how to access PowerSchool here: AAPS Digital Platforms - PowerSchool. Login credentials are available through your student’s school.
Please note that A2 Virtual+ class grades are not available through the PowerSchool app—they can only be accessed through the website. To view these grades, log in to PowerSchool and click on the A2V tab.
We strongly encourage families to check PowerSchool weekly to stay informed and support student success.

Proctoring Information (Previously Shared)
Proctored Activity Requirements
All students must complete two proctored activities for each class each term. These activities are an essential part of the course, designed to assess understanding and ensure academic integrity. The names of the required proctored activities can be found in the student's Schoology classroom.
Proctoring Schedule and Details
The schedule for proctored activities, along with the location and sign-up process, is available in the A2 Virtual Proctoring and Building Support Schoology classrooms.
Additionally, students are welcome to attend Skyline High School's Media Center during Tuesday Nights from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm to complete their proctored activities. No sign-up is required for these sessions. Any student who arrives before 6:00 pm will be permitted to complete their proctored activity.
Students should arrive prepared with their charged school Chromebook or personal device to complete their assessment. While some outlets are available, we recommend ensuring devices are fully charged prior to arrival.
Spring Break Reminder (March 24th - March 28th)
We hope everyone is looking forward to some well-deserved time off! Our team will also be taking a break to rest, recharge, and rejuvenate. While students will still have access to their courses in Schoology, teacher support will not be available during Spring Break.
