A Bulldog Tradition

Friday, 3/21/25 marked the end of IAR Testing. Every year the 3rd grade teachers roll out the red carpet to celebrate the end of IAR Testing. This year was no different. Our 3rd graders were surprised and excited to walk the red carpet.

Important Message from our School Nurse Important Message from our School Nurse

Greetings from the school nurse,

Over the past 10 days we have had multiple cases of Flu B and a few cases of covid. The germs are still circulating, but hopefully with spring weather around the corner things will start to subside soon.

Here are some general and very important reminders regarding the flu. I cannot stress it enough that if your child is not feeling well, please keep them home. This is for their health and wellness and the health of their classmates. Keeping sick children out of school is one of the most important ways to stop the spread.

  • Flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by the influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat and lungs.
  • Symptoms of respiratory flu
    • Fever (Not everyone with flu will have a fever)
    • Cough
    • Sore throat
    • Runny nose or body aches
    • Headaches
    • Fatigue (Tiredness)
    • Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea - more common in children than adults
  • Keep the Flu from spreading
    • Stay away from people who are sick
    • Keep your child home if they aren’t feeling well
    • Cover your coughs and sneezes
    • WASH HANDS OFTEN WITH SOAP AND WATER
    • Do not touch eye, nose and mouth
  • Returning to school
    • Students can return to school once they are fever free for 24 hours WITHOUT the use of fever reducing medications (Tylenol or Motrin)
    • Symptoms are improving overall
    • CDC recommends enhancing hygiene practices and wearing a mask indoors for the next 5 days after return to school

Thank you,

Megan

Dear Fifth Grade Families,

We are thrilled to announce an exciting event for our fifth graders as the school year draws to a close! On Tuesday June 3rd, we will be hosting an end-of-year celebration for our fifth graders to celebrate the achievements and growth of our students throughout their time at Churchill School.

To ensure that all students have the opportunity to attend and enjoy this special occasion, invitations will be based on student referral data. Students will earn points through positive referrals, demonstrating their commitment to showing Bulldog Best Behavior and contributing positively to our school community. Points will be deducted for office and classroom referrals that reflects behaviors that do not align with our school’s expectations. All students will start Monday, March 24th with 100 points. Positive referrals will earn students an additional 25 points while referrals that are earned due to physical altercation will deduct 30 points. Additionally, all other office (major) referrals will deduct 25 points and classroom (minor) referrals will deduct 10 points. To earn an invitation to the dance, students will need a total of 75 points.

Throughout the coming weeks, classroom teachers will maintain open communication with families regarding student’s behavior and progress toward earning their invitation to the dance. We encourage you to partner with us in motivating your child to exhibit their Bulldog Best Behavior in and out of the classroom. Together, we can create a supportive environment where every student feels empowered to succeed. We understand the importance of celebrating milestones and creating lasting memories for our students, and we are committed to ensuring that the end-of-the- year celebration is a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive event for all fifth graders.

Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Let’s make this end-of-school dance a memorable experience for our fifth graders!
