Good evening, STMS Families,

I would like to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all of our STMS mothers and to those who serve in a mother’s role. We are grateful for the love and care you provide every day.

This past week was filled with moments to celebrate and be thankful for. I want to extend my sincere appreciation to our dedicated PTO and the many volunteers who led efforts to support our teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week.

We also celebrated several exciting achievements:

We inducted new members into the National Beta Club.
The STMS Band received the State Outstanding Performance Award from the South Carolina Band Directors Association.
The STMS Girls Flag Football Team won the inaugural Flag Football Championship.
Our students enjoyed our annual Boys and Girls Night event.
Our School Improvement Council continued work on our school beautification project Saturday morning.

This is exactly the kind of energy and celebration that reflects our mission at STMS—working together as a school community to recognize our students, support our teachers, and create opportunities for success.

As we look ahead, state testing will continue this week on Tuesday and Thursday. Please be sure to review this week’s newsletter for important dates and upcoming activities.

The National History Day State Competition was held at Coastal Carolina University on Saturday, May 3rd. We had the following students representing STMS: Hayden Hughes, Henry Janicke, Quinn Cousar, Cameron Bagley, and Lizzie Turner. The students enjoyed a day on campus while they prepared to present and waited for the results. We are so proud of them for their participation at this event.

Please remember to pick up your child's medication by May 27, 2025 at 12:00PM. If you do not pick up the medication/s they will be destroyed and disposed of. If your child has an inhaler or Epi pen at the nurse, I will return it to the student/child before the school year ends. Parents will need to pick up ADHD/Stimulant medications.
