National Volunteer Week - April 20-26, 2025
This week-long celebration is about placing a spotlight on inspiring figures whose invaluable seeds of kindness through volunteering are bettering the community and our world in general.
Why National Volunteer Week is Important
Volunteering makes us feel great!
Giving back to the community, and helping others makes us feel empowered, goal-driven, and fulfilled. We feel happier, self-confident, and embrace a more positive outlook.
Volunteering has tangible benefits!
Service is about helping others. Some tangible benefits of volunteering include learning new skills, increased social interaction in one’s community and increasing self-esteem.
“I think you always learn when you volunteer and you build great connection/friends”.
Volunteering helps Build Community
Volunteers—especially parents and parishioners—create a sense of community and shared mission. Their involvement deepens the connection between the school, families, and the parish, reflecting the Catholic value of service.
Volunteering: Models Faith in Action
Volunteers live out the Catholic call to service. Their presence and example teach students about stewardship, generosity, and living out their faith in tangible ways.
Volunteering Statistics
According to the US Census Bureau, more than 75.7 million people (28% of Americans) —volunteered for an organization (2022-23). In total, these volunteers served an estimated 4.99 billion hours with an economic value of $167.2 billion.

SPS Gala Raises $62,000 for Scholarships!
Thank you to everyone that helped to plan and organize our Black and White Gala this year. It was a fantastic success! Altogether, we raised $62,000 in support of our school and her program. The vast majority of these funds will go towards supporting students on financial aid at our school! It's safe to say that this event has made a huge difference in the lives of our students!
Thank you for your support of our students!
