CTM plus CTM plus

This week in CTM plus we have a PD session focused on enhancing teaching strategies through instructional rounds. We are also going to be diving in deep to our data walls. What does it tell us? What are our next steps.

ELD Observations ELD Observations

Rogers Public Schools has requested to visit Walker during our ELD block as they are developing their own program. Their team will observe both our ELD and proficient classes to understand our operations, focusing on co-teaching strategies, student transitions, groupings, and lessons for proficient groups. The visit will take place on Tuesday Oct. 15th. This is a date change from previous communication.

Facebook Posts

We want to share our story through our Facebook posts, and our goal is to have at least one post per week from each grade level. To help us achieve this, please take pictures during any lessons or activities you'd like to showcase. You can send these to Cole Sewell by either text or email.

If you're sending photos via text, please do so during the school day. Along with the pictures, include a brief summary of the activity or lesson.

Thank you for helping us highlight the amazing work happening in our classrooms!

Extra grey desks and chairs from Wonder Lab

Please consider taking a few extra desks and chairs from the pile in the Wonder Lab to use in your classrooms and/or hallways. With the arrival of our new furniture this month, we need to make space.

Marshallese Translation

Guidelines:

Google Translate is the most accurate.

Use concise, simple language.

Avoid words with multiple meanings.

Pass it by a proficient speaker of the target language.

Reminder you can put in a translation ticket (on the hub)

Dates this Fall we will need to do Intervention in the Wonder Lab instead of the stage

Report Card Folder

Please take a moment to watch the tutorial on report cards linked below, as it covers some important information:

  • How to add other users to your school for editing and printing report cards
  • How to set your name and the school/principal's name
  • Where the language for each student comes from
  • How to print in English if it appears translated
  • And more!

Report Card Envelopes

Each student will receive a report card envelope labeled with their name and the teacher's name. The office will prepare these envelopes for you, and they will be placed in your box soon.

If you have any questions after watching, feel free to reach out.

If you have completed Human Trafficking: Who are the victims? - ERC24009, given your certificate to Katie and entered it into the PD system then you do not have to attend the October 23rd staff meeting.

Required Professional Development

This year we have 2 required PD's from the state. We will provide time during future faculty meetings to complete these but if you do them on your own, turn in your certificate (email Katie or put in her box) and report it on our pd page then you will not need to attend those time(s).

IDEAS website: https://ideaslms.aetn.org/

IDEAS Course Codes:

United: Identifying Bullying Behaviors - HWB23022

Human Trafficking: Who are the victims? - ERC24009

REMINDERS:

1. Email Katie or put PD certificate in box (one of them we have most likely done before so the date won't update, just sign it and let me know when you redid the training)

2. Enter the PD in the Springdale PD site

Purchase our Fundraiser Chocolate Bars for Halloween

Consider supporting our fundraiser by purchasing a box or two of our chocolate bars to use as your Halloween candy this year. It’s a delicious way to contribute and make your house a favorite stop for trick-or-treaters!
