Hello Bothwell Families!

We want to send a reminder that the tardy bell rings at 7:45 AM. This means your child needs to be in their classroom ready for the day. The best time to drop your child off is at 7:30 to ensure

there is plenty of time to exit the car and transition to the classroom. (Please do not allow your child to exit the car prior to 7:20, because they will be outside in the cold without supervision.) Teachers start their instruction at 7:45, and we do not want the students to miss valuable learning experiences.

Our campus and district goal for attendance is 97%. We know it can be challenging to be present each day with sickness and travel plans. It is important that our students are here if they are healthy. We do not want our students to miss out on learning opportunities with their class. Here are our September attendance records. We are SO excited that every grade hit our goal!

Pre-K - 98.75%

Kindergarten -98.75%

1st Grade - 98.80%

2nd Grade - 97.89%

3rd Grade - 97.55%

4th Grade - 97.32%

Shout out to the following classes for having the highest attendance for their grade level:

Williams, Johnson, Silva, Reed, Corbett and Wilson. Keep up the great work!

All the BESt,

Kristen Aune

Principal

Lunch with Loved Ones Lunch with Loved Ones

During the Fall Book Fair, we are excited to host Lunch with Loved Ones. If you would like to attend, please be sure to preregister. Preregistration will help us streamline the check-in process and maximize your time on campus with your student. Based on the number of guests, lunch locations may include the courtyard, main hallway, or cafeteria to ensure a welcoming and enjoyable experience for everyone. We are excited for the Fall Book Fair and look forward to welcoming our loved ones to campus!

State Fair Ticket Information

Aligning with the Fair’s nonprofit mission to celebrate all things Texan by promoting agriculture, education, and community involvement, the State Fair offers a generous amount of free student tickets and teacher admission vouchers to enjoy the Fair each year.

As a valued participant of our State Fair of Texas School Education Program, we wanted to make you aware of an important update regarding the validity of the student tickets distributed to your school.

Due to inclement weather at the beginning of this year's Fair, tickets distributed to students in pre-K through 8th grade within a 100-mile radius of Fair Park will now be valid any day of the Fair, including the final two weekends, through Sunday, October 18. Traditionally, these tickets have been valid only on weekdays; however, after listening to feedback from parents and educators, the Fair is making this year’s tickets valid on weekends as well.

In addition to free student admission for pre-K through 8th grade from participating school districts, the State Fair offers a discounted ticket opportunity for parents to receive $5 off admission – available online at BigTex.com/parents.

While there are no updates regarding the voucher teachers receive, as a friendly reminder, teachers must visit a designated admission sales window, provide a teacher voucher, and show their valid school-issued photo ID to receive a complimentary admission ticket to the Fair. These vouchers are limited to one per educator and will not be accepted unless a valid school-issued photo ID is also shown.

The Fair’s mission as a nonprofit organization is to celebrate all things Texan by promoting agriculture, education, and community involvement through quality entertainment in a family-friendly environment. Expanding access to students and families is one more way the Fair continues to invest in the people it serves. With only 13 days left, we hope students, teachers, and families will come out to enjoy the remainder of the 2026 State Fair of Texas, which runs through Sunday, October 18, 2026.
