Dear Huskie Community,

The start of the 2026-2027 school year has finally arrived! Today teachers are back in the building attending professional learning sessions and preparing for student arrival on Thursday. We are ready to get the year underway!

A few notes on student arrival. If you are dropping off your student, please make every effort to drop them off before 7:30am. Student drivers should also plan to arrive before 7:30am. Doors open at 6:45am. Roads around campus become very congested between 7:20-7:45am. Trying to arrive at 7:40, will lead to students being consistently late for first period. Our goal is to greatly reduce late arrival to school and that starts will planning to arrive early. Most students are on campus and socializing or completing work in our cafeterias well before the first period bell rings. Students can be dropped off in the east lot off Mill St, the NPAC, or Main Entrance. Do not drop off students on the streets. Everything is congested from 7:20-7:45am, please be patient and drive with extreme caution on and around campus.

We hit the ground running with a busy day on Friday. Students will attend grade-level assemblies throughout the day where they will hear important expectations and information, hear about ways they can get involved, and get motivated for the year. Freshmen will participate in Freshmen Connect day during the afternoon. This has been moved to the same day as the assemblies to reduce instructional time disruptions and help get the freshman class off to a fast start. Finally, we have the very popular 80's Dance outdoor in the stadium on Friday night immediately following our Blue & Orange Night events. All students are welcome to attend.

We are in year 2 of Senior Clap-in. Seniors gather in the stadium (weather permitting) at 7am Thursday for a light breakfast generously provided by Home and School. Shortly after 7:45am, the seniors parade through the school and are welcomed to their final year by underclass students and staff 'clapping them in'.

Finally, this information is shared annually. As we begin the new school year, we would like to remind our Naperville 203 Community of important Board of Education policies, which are also part of the student handbook. 7.180 Preventing Bullying, Intimidation, and Harassment and 7.190 Student Behavior. 2.260 Uniform Grievance Procedure and 2.265 Title IX Sexual Harassment Grievance Procedure are also in place to support our students. Please take the time to review each policy. Thank you for being a partner in the growth of our students.

Let's make it a great year and Go Huskies!!

Sincerely,

Jay Wachtel

FALL ATHLETIC INFORMATION

Huskies,

We are quickly approaching the start of the Fall Sports season, and we could not be more excited to see our student-athletes back in action for the 2026-2027 school year.

Tryouts and Practices Begin

Fall tryouts and practices begin Monday, August 10, with the exception of Football, which begins Wednesday, August 5 at 7:45 AM on the NN Balcony. Start times and meeting locations for every program are listed in the attached graphic. Sideline Cheer and Sideline Dance will continue their current practice schedules.

Before Your Athlete Can Participate

Every athlete must complete sport registration and have a current physical on file with the Athletic Department before attending a tryout or practice. No exceptions. Freshmen may use a qualifying school-entry physical. Physicals must remain current for the entire season. The Fall Athletic Checklist walks families through each step.

Limited-Roster Sports

Boys Golf, Girls Golf, Boys Soccer, Girls Tennis, and Girls Volleyball have limited roster sizes and require tryouts. Students not selected for a limited-roster team are welcome to join an open-roster fall sport — those programs accept new athletes through the start of the school year. If this applies to your athlete, contact the coach or the Athletic Department as soon as possible after tryouts so we can find the right fit.

Blue and Orange Night — Friday, August 14

Blue and Orange Night is back this year in full. More information will come from your participating program's head coach.

Fall Media Day — Saturday, August 15

Team photos, individual photos, captain photos, and senior hype video filming all take place at Huskie Stadium. Report times will come from your program's head coach. There will be no reshoots.

Fall Athletic Orientation Night — Monday, August 17, 6:00 PM

Mandatory for all fall student-athletes and at least one parent/guardian. We will open with a large group meeting, then break out into individual program meetings around the building.

Fall Athletics Information can be found HERE.

Questions? Contact the Naperville North Athletic Department. We are ready for a fantastic year — in our classrooms and in our extracurriculars.
